The fallout from the mass unemployment of college graduates is going to be extremely dysgenic. Not only will those men be unable to have a family, you'll probably have a mass amounts of suicides in a few years.

Probably yes and definitely a ton of Chinese, but in my experience, my physics were filled with White people.
And I’m talking WHITE WHITE like 50 percent of these dudes were all tall, blond, Northern European.

no. At least not as much as CS/IT. I am Indian in the states. Mech is filled to the brim with Chinese and we are close seconds. But there are just as many whites as us too, it is just that they prefer going in aerospace rather than mech. My observations are anecdotal ofc, from my master's program in a state school. Also while my undergrad was in mech enginigering, I did my master's in material science

Nobody has an undergraduate degree in anything. You just have an undergraduate degree. It is only worthwhile as a stepping stone to a graduate program or entry level shit jobs. Anyone that lists there major is losing at life without knowing it.

There actually are a few good ones. I've worked with Indian dudes that were very talented engineers, good guys, and who I genuinely respected. They're the exception though.
In general though? No fucking way. They're quantity over quality, and the stories about the nepotism and weird performative bullshit exist for a reason. They shovel all sorts of incompetents into the pipeline and dump them over here.

I started as an EE at $56k... granted, that was in 2006, in the Midwest... so double or triple in today's dollars. I hit $120k by 2014 or so (so multiply by probably 1.5-2x to get today's dollars), and briefly hit $350k during the pandemic (though that was at Meta, and an exceptional amount of cash, and I burned the fuck out).
Am unemployed at the moment (voluntarily... dealing with some shit) so can't comment.
Point is, it should get better, if (and this is a huge fucking assumption) the trajectory of the 2020's/2030's are anything like the 2010's. Once you have 5-10 years experience you'll be a lot more valuable.

Why do lazy zoomers today refuse to go out and get good jobs? It’s easy, son.

All you have to do is type up a resume, submit it online, pull up the job application, enter information from the submitted resume into data fields, take an online psychological profiling test, wait a month, get a call from the HR rep, schedule a phone interview, get a call two weeks later, set up a Skype interview with the HR rep and hiring manager, get a call two weeks later, set up a physical interview, go to the physical interview two weeks later, interview with the HR rep and hiring manager, set up a full-round interview, go to the full-round interview two weeks later, interview with the HR rep, hiring manager, potential fellow co-workers, get an offer letter, set up a drug test, criminal background search, credit history search, go to the drug testing two weeks later, obtain COVID vaccination records and send them in, set up a meeting with the department head, go to the meeting two weeks later, walk up, look him in the eye, and give him a firm handshake. Then he’ll smile and welcome you aboard to your first unpaid internship.

That’s how we did it in my day.
