I don't mind sharing, but I definitely don't like interacting. The 'rules' are less about following them to the letter and more about leveraging legal authority to not have to deal with people. Most unfriendly people have some sort of obsessive hobby or project that they just don't dedicate any time away from and pointless chatter with random people doesn't interest them. That's how I am at least and why I like this website because it's anonymous and the conversations don't drag, most random people you come across have absolutely nothing interesting to say and don't care about your hobbies. We have an independent streak (which is consistently exploited by elites throughout our history, but that's another story) so we rarely want "handouts," but large swaths of America between the coasts desperately need social services. We need to triage these towns and provide them with mental/physical/addiction healthcare so they can help themselves. There are countless small towns ravaged by drugs and deindustrialization. Industry is likely never coming back to what it once was, and we're going to need rich people from coast to coast to take one for the team and pay higher taxes. The alternative is just and endless procession of increasingly radical politics coming from a group of people left behind.
