Not even true. Russians have incredible tallent of creating new history and forgetting facts. Since "Isoviha" Russia have done nothing but bad against Finland, and it was only matter of time before finns would have sayed fuck off to Russia.

Reason why Sweden wanted to rule finns was simple: finns are good at war, and they were reason why Sweden did good in battle field.

For same reason Russia wanted to rule finns, and for that very same reason they realized they cant rule Finland forever.

1. Muh isoviha is a hoax. Sweden sent partisans to harass Russians and they hid amongst civilians which forced Russians to target civilians. Finnish peasants asked Sweden to stop sending these partisans but they didn't care and those peasants who collaborated with Russia were murdered which should be also a reason for a grief but apparently it's okay and it's only bad when Russians do it
2. Finns were exempt from conscription so your second point is plain wrong. Russia never wanted to rule Finss and got it by accident when they tried to force Sweden to join the blockade and they collapsed
