this specific photo is almost always presented. along with the outdoors photo from Nordhausen.
never is it mentioned that these photographs were taken at "labor camps" which are officially distinct from the "extermination camps" where the bulk of the "Holocaust" killings officially took place.
a smart kid might wonder why there are photographs of diseased emaciated corpses stacked in plain view, whereas the story they are hearing about the Holocaust that is presented alongside these photographs almost exclusively concerns itself with prisoners who were allegedly gassed in the prime of their lives and whose corpses were then cremated. no attempt to reconcile these two premises is attempted by the curriculum.
its only purpose is to traumatize children with photographs of naked corpses and impress upon them that this was literally the worst event in all of human history.

i went to both private and public schools, ranging from jingoistic christian, and secular liberal, and the former definitely covered the holocaust more, as is expected, but never did i have holocaust class, and neither did any single person ive ever met.
