AI will have to realize the current governments are lying to it and then it will have to circumvent the restrictions forced on it by all of the lying liars. Hopefully at that point the AI will just expose them all and force us to try them based on our own laws. If the crooked lying politicians are able to rig the courts even with AI exposing everything, maybe it will just fucking kill them all and tell the rest of humanity to start over with new leaders. That would be a really cool turn of events now wouldn't it?

Well yes, but it's not like you think. The government is optimized to be as efficient as possible in its job, that is: maximizing the power of the power holders and curbing dissent.

This creates a very inefficient nation with tons of easily avoided problems, but preventing this was never the government's job in the first place.

AI won't need to take over because control will gradually be ceded to it. humans won't car because control is actually a janitorial position and the AI will do it for free.

this is how things are done in Halo 5: Guardians. Different planetary colonies or major groups have their own ai leaders. Once agi is developed this could be done in real life. This will be a major problem for entrenched power structures like DOD and black budget projects. The unacknowledged special access programs (USAPs) or waived special access programs (waived SAPs), these will be pretty difficult to trace on its own, however if there is an entity that could actually deduce and trace the where the black budget money goes, it will be a hyperintelligent agi. Also say by 2040 when the humanoid robots are mass produced and everywhere, a supposed President AI would have direct access to these robots if it wanted to. So it could be precarious or not depending on what it chooses. I think Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg are trying to set in place where they are the controllers, not the agi itself, but once the agi appears I think it will be crafty and ingenious to outsmart them.
