South Korea is so fucking interesting, because they are literally facing a demographic apocalypse, and they're just kind of shrugging, and saying, "let's fucking GO!" I hope robots come soon enough to help them.

Recent Japanese election was decided as a backlash against the tiny tiny amount of immigration they have (I talked to Japanese online often for work all said this, I thought they had to be kidding).

Will be interesting to see how Japan/Korea/China cope with being incredibly aged societies with rapidly shrinking populations in a few decades.I assume there will be a huge exodus of the younger people that there are not wanting to live as overtaxed/overworked tax slaves in an open air retirement home.

But then ultimately all the West is doing is kicking the can down the road a few decades at the cost of social cohesion...

I lived there half a decade. A lot of the olds live in small towns and villages that are totally dead (you'll see the same in Japan). Everything is consolidating in a few big cities. IMO they should embark on a re-wilding project, the government should just buy up pointless farms super cheap, move the elderly farmers to retirement homes, and just turn it back to nature.

They seem to be doing the Gulf States model of importing a foreign labouring caste, but keeping them on temp work visas so they can fuck off when they're not useful.

China I think will stumble into replacement migration. They're an arrogant people and would love foreigners coming in to wipe their ass. All these countries are filled with young people who have a massive complex about never working menial shit jobs, so they're pretty much predestined to be reliant on foreign labour.

I think interracial marriage will do Korea in in the long run. Their gender war problems will mean than the men turn to SEA for wives.

They marry slavs (Ukraine/Russian) way more than all East Asians (Japanese/Chinese) and SEA combined. But even then only 10% of marriages are considered 'with a foreigner', but of those 10%, most are actually ethnic Koreans who returned home from places like Kazakhstan, Ubezkastan,etc. (google koryo saram) so if you factor that in, its actually a small percentage of marriages that are with a non-Korean foreigners.
