>>510956650>it's really sad how ugly and awful the web is behind the scenesa lot of it comes down to the browser not being ideal when it comes to what it's being tasked to do
>cross-compatible & responsive>animations & interactive UI elements>style hacking/layeringall to meet some super autistic demand on how the page should look with almost no room to negotiate
to give an analogy; look at rock music 50 years ago vs today, how something as simple as ACDC's TNT song has very basic chords it's used as teaching material, and yet that song sent ACDC to the moon
versus today where rock songs have like 20 band members, each of them able to play 20 instruments, with 20 sound engineers tidying up every 20 milliseconds of audio, all to provide a 2-5 minute song that winds up playing on the radio and making a pitance
the web has more or less gone through the same transformation and it's not just because of a bunch of jeets having entered into it, it's largely because expectations are high but the willingness to pay for it is in the gutter
so you want a super fancy webpage but don't want to pay a super fancy price for it? then you're getting nested elementsโwhatever just fucking werks
