/pol/ tard here, since there is quite a few unemployed, inbetween jobs, or neets in general here I would share what I do now. I do doordash/ubereats here, i make a average of $100/day thats my target, before summer, I used to make >$1000 a week working both Lunch and Dinner rushes. But now because of the heat, and the blazing sun, I only do Dinner Rush and make $700/week.

I start getting ready at 4pm, and then leave my house and start driving to my local spots. I try to be ready officially ready Around 4:30pm then I "start", and around 9pm I no longer take any orders and start driving home or wrap things up.

Damn, I tried doing it but wasn't doing numbers like that, although I waa getting thrown for a loop by my recently discovered, still undiagnosed autism (the diagnostic criteria are for children, I'm broke, the only local autism specialist I saw is black and others don't even deal with it).

I ended up having to rent a car from Hertz and they fucked me over with some weird double billing that took me out of the game. My current car is too old to be eligible to drive. I work for less than minimum wage for the family business I tried to escape and I can not afford to support myself without working myself into burnout and becoming too despondent to do anything.

Not trying to bitch, but definitely keep some money aside for car repairs if you can. I've done delivery in other contexts and sudden expenses in the hundreds rarely failed to fuck up my life in some way. The stakes are way higher in the current economy. If you're using a rental you pretty much gotta work every day or do some long shifts.

I work at a grocery store, in my home town, that still lives with his mother. I'm "that guy". I didn't go to college after high school, kind of dicked around. Took some community college courses but never finished. Work shit job to shit job. I make just enough to move out but it would be an absolute shit existence and would have to live off ramen and tap water. Don't be me.

I drive a reliable car and drive like a grandma, I don't understand Drivers that are speeding and rushing all the time. I don't do long distances regardless of pay.

The Detroit zone was where I could deliver (I am not avsterbone). I think we recently were rated as the most stressed place in the country. There are probably more drivers than demand because of this, but the boomers also just sent our local industrial economy to the third world and we're horribly fucked. Also, we are the designated dumping ground for Arabs and they be doing uber eats.

How do you just not do shit after HS and end up such a fucking loser by your late 20s? It makes no sense to me. I'm not from a wealthy family and had to take out loans and work during school because I didn't want to end up like you. Now I'm doing much better than most despite declining economic conditions. Even with a new car you will eventually have problems. You put lots of miles on your car, it starts to go to shit. Not to mention you go through tires and oil changes fast. That adds up. God help you if you get into an accident and the car isn't totaled but your insurance refuses to pay to get it fixed.
