Say you start a company in the US. You're all native to the US. Start small as 5, grow to 10 to 15. You have a product people want and now begin to scale. You grow to 100+ and also start looking to other markets. You bring on people from other countries since your product has market in these other countries too. But you're still majority US. You've grown to say 10 000. 90% being US based. Original founders don't care anymore they sell. New people come in and grow the company even more. New owners don't fundamentally understand why the product the company was selling was useful. But its just so good that your market keeps exoanding because people want it. You hit an inflection point where your market no longer grows. But you have to still look good to potential buyers. Time to trim fat. You start moving your employees off of the US. Since they are expensive. And for the most part. The heaviest cost of any company is usually wages. So you outsource. Maybe you have 50 000 employees. 45 000 are US based. You now to start having your current employees train the new hires, you're still trying to grow the company. You then turn around and stop hiring US people. Coupled with having current employees training new hires in cheaper countries. Letting go of the ones that are too expensive and not too important.

You grow to 100k employees. Which 30k are based in US and now you have 70k of outsourced individuals from cheaper countries. Are you still a US company?
