shoulda saved up, i havent had health insurance in 10 years and i can pay for a surgery out of pocket with the savings ~$50k

Americans have themselves chosen to treat their citizens like this. Its 100% a political decision that americans could easily afford. Actually they would save money because nationalized healthcare is more cost effective due to economics of scale.
