Young men have that instinct to rebel. The previous generation still partially grew up in a world that was either religious or had a certain reverence to religion, so they rebelled by being an atheist edgelord.
Gen Z grew up in a world where atheism and general cynism towards religions was the norm, so they rebelled by finding Christ.

One other possible reason is the that the internet allow access to everything, and gez z had ample access to it during their formative years. People that grow up without religion or within some plastic version of christianity such as evangelicism can now examine catholicism and orthodoxy up close with the internet, instead of forever seeing it as a weird cryptic thing like they did growing up.

tl.dr: Christ IS king and finding out that truth is a lot easier now
