Now they get to larp as a first world European nation but without the oil they would be worse than Moldova. The fund (state owned asset manager of Norway that gets the oil profits) also invests in Nordic countries heavily so that goes for Sweden and Iceland toi who get oil bucks from Norway, at least Sweden use to be somewhat of a country before the oil, and Danemark is pretty normal, they barely count as Nordic

Another interesting part of Swedish history is the massacre of the Swedish nobles by Danemark. It’s interesting because in that case it backfired but other times the exact same thing worked (Scotland vs gaeldom, Scotland did the same thing, massacred gael nobles and they just won history with no downsides)

For example the company who sells this fish, needs infrastructure to sell it in Nigeria. So Norway Aid is used to build that (with help of another Norwegian company) , this is then booked under "foreign aid".
Foreign Aid is just a clever way to employ your own companies under the pretense of helping others.
Same was true with USAID. If some players in the web are corrupt you can drain a lot of money without anybody noticing though, but a country small like Norway probably doesn't have that issue as USAID did.
