I think they'll grow stronger from bold actions and insane technological innovation - which will cannibalize their own populus, and europe as an extension while causing havoc in Russia, China and rest of world. WWIII has been burning for a few years already, a lot longer than that if you count the cold-hot build up over decades.
But it won't be nuclear. Nukes cannot be used because of NHI overseers, so it's going to be much like WWII. Everywhere on the front will be like Ukraine, global trade will collapse worse than it did during the pandemic.

This is a good thing. The system is untenable. It was always going to happen, sooner rather than later means less suffering long term. ASI is manipulating events to minimize suffering, I know for a fact that the DARPA computers decided a long time ago that WWIII was the most efficient way to get from A to B. It will be ok in the end.
