The US has stockers from companies that go store to store and stock only that company's products....and they get paid more than store managers with the exception of Walmart and Target managers. Do other countries have these

When I worked in a grocery store the Pepsi merchandisers were cool young guys. The coke guys were salt of the earth family men. But the seven up guys... sketchy as fuck man. Stay the fuck away from the seven up pervs.

you can make more than that being a team lead at walmart, and the work is way easier. All you do is kiss ass all day and yell at your wagies for not completing impossible goals.

The warehouses where they stock the stuff onto trucks are usually pretty far away. I assume they do that to get people from farther away to make the commute. They often drive from different cities, and their routes take them many hundred miles.

Absolutely don't get paid more than store managers. I did that job for 2 years for different companies and made between 15 and 19 an hour a few years ago.

A Costco forklift driver (literally zero training required, they do their own training and disregard past experience) tops out at 35.90/hr at premium locations (+$2/hr) within 5 years and are due for two pay bumps of $1 in 2026 and 2027 bringing them to 37.90/hr with zero education, full benefits, a 401k and tons of paid vacation and personal leave time. Maternity leave is insane too- they get 5 months.

The pallet is dropped off in the back of the warehouse. The merchandiser goes back there, grabs a dolly and distributes the product onto the shelves. Then on to the next stop.

Yeah it's a lot of manual labor. You are better off doing something else. The toughest part is organizing all the sodas in the warehouse in a big grocery store because you have a limited amount of room designated for you as several companies have their own space in it from other soda companies, wine, the grocery store products themselves and so on. You got keep all the different flavors separate to or you will have to move so much shit to get something you need. On top of all this soda expires so you got to rotate stuff properly over time

Do a different job you'll be paid more like Amazon

Team leads at walmart dont work. Ive worked there. They sit around and talk with the coaches all day. Sometimes they will use power equipment to move stuff, but that is about it. Where I lived, it paid 22 dollars, and they were talking about pay increases even then. Walmart also seemingly doesnt care about overtime 90% of the time so sometimes they would just stay behind and run up the clock doing nothing. The problem is every Walmart has its own clique, and you will never get to be a team lead without fitting in to it.

This is capitalism at it's finest.
The shelf location is so valuable to pepsi, they are willing to send the guy to stock the shelf themselves.
Stores get profits from products, and get kick backs from.pepsi.
Some guy gets a well paid job.
Pepsi maximise their profits and can afford to do all this.

I don't know how it is done now, but in my day, guys like this had a 'route'. So they represent some potato chip company, and it's their job to not only stock the shelves, but also to talk the smaller stores into stocking the product. It's a good deal for the store because this guy comes in and handles all the stocking and rotation; it's a good deal for the guy who has the route because the better he is and pushing potato chips, the more money he makes.

And you think this is weird? We used to have a guy who would sneak around in the middle of the night and leave milk and cheese in a little box at your door

The Coke guy at my store had a rule that he couldn't be seen drinking any non-coke products or he could get fired. But he was a hilarious fella.

My manager was a pretty cool alcoholic and bald. The coke guy went up to him and said he was going to cum on his bald head and rub it in like moisturizer kek

They don't make anywhere near managers though, my local Walmart was doing close to a million in sales a day and the managers all got 6 figure bonuses.

Realistically, not only is there no fuckin way that a single store manager got a 6-figure bonus, but there's also no way you'd know about it. Unless your source is "Yeah man Ryan told me he got a 150k bonus, lucky bastard". Ryan lied.

Nothing ever goes in your car if you are the person putting the sodas away. A 18 wheeler truck driver in the back of the warehouse of the store drops all the pallets off. You can drive anything it dosen't matter as long as you can get to the locations you need to go during the day

gotta wonder why you're so deadset against a store manager receiving a bonus lol

the source was common knowledge, store managers get bonuses based on how much profit it turns.

I have done this for a plant company and Scott’s (like the seeds and fertilizer). You’re pretty delusional if you see yourself above the true retail workers you work with. But the job is easy and you’re usually on your own. I don’t mind these jobs but I’m not career focused - I work then travel
