Ripping DEI out of schools is nice but the way Trump is doing it is absurdly sloppy and low IQ (literally they would just Ctrl+F grant applications for “DEI words”, so when statisticians talked about “diverse sampling” they get flagged). I agree with accountability measures, but distrust private funding sources. The only thing I’m sure of is that every year high school graduates get dumber and dumber and if this keeps up we’ll have an irreversible competency crisis. Funding wise, I specifically have the NIH funding cuts in mind. Most of my colleagues were unaffected since they’re mostly engineers and physicists, but incentivizing private companies to fund medical research doesn’t sit right with me.

I only strongly disagree with the last point. DEI is retarded but the precedent set by the federal government taking such a strong ideological stance and rooting out wrong-thinkers is dangerous. There’s nothing to stop them from declaring antisemitism a dangerous cult, or transphobia or whatever ideology happens to be popular with the current administration.
