These colliders are still pretty small, the energies needed for a lot of things absolutely dwarf the amount of energy we could pump into something this size.

despite the prevailing narrative, quantum isn't the key to AGI and that which is is very much maturing at a breakneck pace. in fact, you may have seen a glimpse when the chinese produced a chatgpt clone for under 2 million. yes, they had also scraped it but i suspect there was more going on than meets the eye. everyone was in such a panic to prevent a stock market collapse that the proferred explanation was taken at face value and was promptly forgotten. agi is a statement about energy efficiency at the level of biology - never forget that.

tldr; faster (more energetic) particles will need stronger and stronger steering magnets to run into a tight circle so bigger circle = less powerful steering magnets (actually magnets that can be made)

changing the reality, like changing thread or tv channel, to avoid a gigantic catastrophe in the near future (maybe some decades, less than a century ?) it's why the world makes less and less sense, it's normal, we are in alternate realities where events have lower and lower probability as we go farther away from the original reality where everything has a probability of 1 of happening. Maybe the sun is dying or overheating, there was a thread where an anon presented some graphics with the °K temperature of ions in the very high atmosphere and it was growing like the climate change they claim is of human origin.

That is like asking for the QOL improving applications for gravity or electromagnetism. Quantum mechanics isn't just some wacky hypothetical theory, it's how things work in the real world at certain scales of size. And a LOT of the technological developments today and for the last 100+ years happen at the scales where it is very relevant.
There are things like semiconductors, where people started making discoveries and figuring things out without completely understanding the quantum mechanics aspects, but a better understanding of that leads to massive improvements in the technology.

>Slightly unrelated but how come the top of the line CPUs today max out at about 5 and a half GHz when they got to 4 and half a decade ago
because clock speed isn't the limiting factor and has always been a meme of sorts.
>Moore's law is still regurgitated to this day by amoeba brained NPCs
oh, the trend creating the modern world which continues to exert deflationary innovation?
Where are commercial superconductors, solid state batteries?
what can i say? war is good for business. innovation was tempered in the interest of global stability. but now, the gloves are off and we're about the see some shit.

Wtf are you on lmao all bursts of innovation happened during major conflicts. I just honestly don't understand how anyone could not be a skeptic in 2025. The only supposed current breakthrough, glorified search engines, are totally incapable of doing math when multiple variables are involved, shit has to be corrected constantly. 0 cognition.

>0 cognition.
i'll answer but for your benefit: narrow AI and LLM as they currently exist shouldn't be conflated with AGI although they're closely aligned symbiotic halves. human intellect is largely distributed throughout culture not, as you would believe, a function of our meager capacity for abstract cognition. LLMs are cultural totems which will be placed into functional AGIs.
