The Chinese have the most advanced robot warehouse workers right now.

White man can only dream of its robots being as good as Chinese robots at warehouse work.

Show me a robot that is actually useful. No dancing and no carefully choreographed martial arts. Show me a robot that I can tell right now to go to my kitchen and make me a sandwich and it will do that.

In reality you can't even get a fucking Roomba to work right after 23 years.

Why does there need to be a "sandwich robot"? Can't any humanoid robot understand my request and have the wherewithal to make a sandwich? Surely if robots are replacing all unskilled laborers any one of those robots could easily complete such a simple task.

Why does there need to be a "carpenter man"? Or a "plasterer man"? Surely if all these unskilled laborers cannot be replaced then any of them could complete these tasks interchangeably

Have a robot supervisor that polices your work and berates you for not hitting quotas but simultaneously has orifices you could fuck and mouths to be sucked off by. Job satisfaction would be 100%.

Is that video just meant to show the capabilities of the robot (dexterity and such) or is it performing an actual task that humans normally would be doing? It's just turning over packages and pushing them onto a belt. I don't know why you would need a "humanoid" robot to do something like that. You'd think that could be accomplished with a typical arm robot.

They’re identifying the bar code orientation and flipping it so it’s face down to be later scanned down the line. When there’s soft packages/bags and the barcode is ruffled/bent, it takes the time to flatten it out before flipping it.

Here’s an hour long interview where he talks about the logistics/real world use case, comparison to human parity etc:

When mass unemployment happens, crime will skyrocket.

These people who get replaced by AI/robots, they're not just going to crawl into a hole and die.

They're going to break into your home and take your shit.

In all seriousness there is a market for home humanoids. 1x is trying to specifically for said market but the reality is the big guns (Google/Apptronik, FigureAI, Tesla) will likely outcompete in the end (after focusing on industry applications).
