Russia doesn't conscript random men, they have voluntary service and new recruits are not send to the front after years of training. The dude doesn't even have the age to enter the army as a combatant but he was a mechanic before joining russia and since he voluntary looked to enter the russian army in some way to speed up papers for his family, the only non combatant positions available for his age and skill would be to work as a mechanic far from the front.
Their bullshit is not only fake but down right unbelievable.
