There exists an evangelical movement which supports Trump solely because he's transactional enough to act as their instrument. Look into Steve Berger, a megapastor who has "discipled" (no, it's not a typo, and yes it is cringy... but real) multiple members of congress including the Speaker. "Disciplling" to a dominionist Christian is literally making someone submit to, well... ostensibly "god," but in reality to YOUR interpretation of it.
This sounds like a conspiracy theory, and to be fair, it kind of is... but it's all out in the open now. They've chosen SCOTUS justices, they've got their "discipled" congressmen, and now they have no need to hide. There has been in reality a massive theocratic project in the works for decades. Those goofy Christians who were omnipresent were not harmless but gathering power and supporters.
When in DC, Mike Johnson LITERALLY lives in the fucking BASEMENT of Steve Berger's house.
Trump doesn't matter. The wannabe theocrats have been using him all along. What's actually impending is Christian evangelical theocracy.
