Wait- are you trying to tell me that being white is good? Growing up, and all through school, it was always implied that being white was negatively recieved in general. I (we) were perceived as being less cool and "geeky" compared to the general population. Why didn't any of my teachers or even my parents put any of this stuff in the same perspective as /pol/ does about being white? I never even got a hint that being white could be anything less than a curse before now. What gives?

In some ways, the fact the people saw it as so edgy is the most damning evidence of all that the tides were against white people. Perhaps some started off as thinking it was funny or ironic and then becomming earnest. It had its roots in a response to black lives matter. Which was becomming such a social pressure of the time that people were like going in public and sucking black people's toes as a way to "apologize" for being white. As if that's not racist. Well anyways, somebody anonymously printed out a piece of paper at a university that said "it's okay to be white", maybe as a social experiment, maybe because anti-white rhetoric was so rampant in schools. It was such an unoffensive phrase in such unoffensive font, that the university started a witchhunt against the student so many powerful media groups called it out as "white supremacism".
