Legitimately yes. You can't chimp out against your own followers and declare that you no longer want their support just because they're expecting you to follow through on your promises. Going through this much effort to protect pedophiles is just insane. There is absolutely no way to spin this. A big part of his support is from Christian nationalist nutcases who couldn't care less about who and what Trump is as long as he keeps delivering a functional abrogation of the separation between church and state. This Christian shit goes really deep. SCOTUS itself even has sitting justices whose loyalties lie more strongly with a 2000 year old book than they do with the constitution to which they all took an oath. These dominionists are legitimately and unironically on the very brink of quietly turning the US into a theocracy.
