Women are less safe in dating because of apps. Back when they had suitors verified by their families, or even just dated men they met through church/work/school they would have a good idea of what a guy was like before going out with him.
Now as long as a guy has a good profile pic and some basic "rizz" that's all it takes.
Even giving your phone number to a guy you met at a bar was safer than dating apps because you at least could verify the man could conduct himself in a public place and on the phone.
