The Engine fuel control switches have a safety feature where you have to pull the switch/lever up before you can move it. It seems the safety feature had not been properly applied and when the pilot was reducing throttle after takeoff the fuel control switch was nudged from RUN to CUTOFF.
It shows a common neglect of safety in favor of convenience common in India, everywhere from driving, to shortcuts across railroads, to open defecation, to littering, to faulty electronics. The Indian lives in the moment, they are not concerned by a 1/1000 chance their actions will cause disaster, because 99.9% of the time it won't happen, they have difficulty understanding or accepting concepts such as this which are essentially abstract until the disaster actually happens. It is unsurprising since their IQ averages 76.
