Was born and raised in Southern California and grew up in a neighborhood full of older white Christian couples and their families. The whole neighborhood changed through the years.
When I left my whole entire neighborhood was replaced by people I've never seen before.
All of them Hispanic.
None of them ever bothered to knock on my door to introduce themselves, and they started randomly lighting off loud fireworks randomly at any time in the middle of the street.
There was no more peace and quiet or unity, and during the holidays nobody in that neighborhood except myself put up any kind of decorations.
When Halloween would come around all of these families would get into cars and take off to Hollywood or wherever to trick or treat -- I'd have like 4 trick-or-treaters a year.
Thanksgiving? They ordered shit from restaurants because none of them know how to cook.
Christmas was just sad.
No Christmas music at all -- just spic music. No lights, no holiday apparel, and they'd give their kids their gifts at midnight instead of Christmas morning.
My neighborhood basically symbolizes the entirety of California now.
It's a soulless husk of what it used to be.
There are no small business with people that you personally know who run them, no push for familial values, no push for Christian values. Nothing.
California died in 2008.
