I get a sensible chuckle every time some impoverished countries get into a shit-flinging match and they inevitably post some historical map about how they were big and stronk once upon a time. I have seen this phenomena posted by brits, turks, italians, serbs, poles, russians, armenians, mexicans, columbians, armenians, indians, arabs, off the top of my head.
