Look, I get what you're saying, you're saying X politician supports Y government assistance program because it redistributes wealth from a few to the masses and in turn wins them votes and gets them re-elected, right? Okay, sure, that could be one of their motives, but if it's still helping people, if it's still the right policy decision, what does it matter?
Like I said, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. A couple unseemly cases doesn't mean no one should receive help from the government of a developed, wealthy nation.
