nah, im not a gourmet really
the simpler the dish the better imo, less time spent on cooking. My potato recipe is either peel and boil them (i know that everybody says that you shouldnt peel them for boiling but i just dont like the taste that they get from it) or peel, cut and fry them, with salo ofc, i used to try to cut them in to cuboids but then someone showed me that its much faster to just do it randomly, like sharpening a pencil, thats my recipe lol.

How did you go about slaughtering that pig? Do you do it yourself?

supermarket around the corner is now selling exclusively israeli potatos. now, beside the preposterous transport cost and moral considerations, those are washed and will go bad in a matter of a few days, if they're not already sprouting in shop. next to my house are several farms that offer potatos at a much lower price. unwashed, can be stored for a whole winter, taste better and the best thing, you can help them with the harvest and get a discount on all purchases. that incudes eggs, nuts, fruit, and vegetables. you make friends this way, which is nice. potatos can be harvested several times over the season. your mocking shows you don't know this. live in the city then?

this reminds me.
Here we have plenty of gardeners, especially far away from the biggest cities, but from i gather most (if not all) of them buy store seeds, which are infertile hybrids, meaning you cannot reproduce them again from the seeds that the plant grows itself. This is somewhat concerning. Its not true self sufficiency, although these plants are supposedly better.

Very good point, there's worse to it if you involve (ex-)Monsanto's "whitelist" approach to herbicide (meaning it kills all except approved).

But botanists and universities bypass all that bullshit and are quite ideologically inclined. Not always positively so but it can be made use of like this, as they do have fertile plants.

With their aid i've been guerilla gardening in public spaces for a decade now.

disregard dutch faggots statement, monsanto has nothing to do with home gardeners, to use gmo you sign contracts and shit. but back to seeds, yes buying seeds is way easier and better. some plants such as melons and squash are super easy but to save the seeds you must have one heirloom variety of a crop so you dont cross pollinate. hybrids offer lots of benefits when it comes to production and disease resistance through selective breeding NOT gene editing. buying good brand seeds is a sure thing and it sucks when you put in work and the seeds dont end up working well. ive been there and done that, plus good seeds are very cheap, ($0.50/pack)

>water them every day
No. If you want to have bunch of rotted mush at the the bottom layers, you water them every day. You can also use those Oak leaves as mulch to protect the soil from direct sunlight and that will lessen the evaporation effect. Once every other day is perfectly fine for containers. Even less if you don't add in perlite into your mix to provide better drainage.
You'd want use your own soil mix in these(picture) types of "pots". Literally 0 need to buy bags of compost/soil to fill them each time if you have access to your own compost/soil source. Which I assume you do due to in ground growing.

thats funny
i used to watch a guy on youtube doing the same thing, an american, i suspect he was an ex-convict, rolling around on a scooter, planting trees and bushes of the appropriate type to the area, criticizing the work of the professionals that the city hires. Wish i could find that channel again.

Now they've moved on to phase two which is pushing the 4th industrial revolution which is to solidify pic related as the permanent normal to where people forget there was a life of product and ownership rather than license to use and smart contracts

he also thinks so but its either me running for him through the bushes or risking that he will again return home broken or not return at all. I dont use a neck leash, its more of a costume (i think its called velco suit?).
Its becoming more and more popular here particularly in the cities. The alternative is him never going outside and he keeps begging to be let out despite being neutered.

i did all of that and they still werent as good as growing them in the ground. you younger guys need to focus on impoving other aaspects of gardening other than just making it easier. its like that back to eden retardation. sometimes i kinda feel sorry for retards who stick seedlings in a bed of woodchips year after year and then watching their plants shrivel and die. all to get out of a little weeding, admending and derocking soil. it seems so pointless and they keep at it for 5 or six years before they just do it normal.

i get that and understand the distances are different over there. my place, 50km out the next city, doesn't have much land to grow things, so it's just some lawn and a decorative garden. a small house that i bought for 20K in 2013. put in another 30K to get it up to standard and occasionally invest some more to improve it. larger houses around here would cost around 100-250K. for 250K though you could get 9 rooms on three floors and two garages, plus a proper chunk of garden land. depends on location ofc. building new is expensive and buying a farm of 50 acres can set you back 1-2 million, depending on the state of buildings. that would be a 'vierseitenhof' i.e. a fort like farm building arrangement. boomers are selling when their offspring prefer the city or have moved away. so it's possible, theoretically. over here.

i watched a few minutes and it seems fine. raised beds can be great but are more expensive than just growing in the regular dirt. when you grow in containers you control the roots enviroment 100% and i dont have time for that. from my experience this yesr my container potatoes were not as good as the ones i grew in the ground, they were finished 3 weeks earlier is a possibility why i guess. mostly i hate how a poor mans hobby such as gardening has been so commercialized that people think they need thousands of dollars to get started. all they need is a hoe, rake, shovel and $5 of seeds.

As of now it's around the edges but it's growing towards the Center. Palantir, Stable coins, Executive order banning homelessness (who the fuck knows where these people go), Demands of taking over The Federal Reserve to some degree. Great idea. Nice
I like to eat bread sticks with pasta sauce
during the weekend. pasta is ez enough too
I love plants
You don't even have to do the dishes if you don't use any animal products.
Most of it just dries and pops right off,
rinses off or just doesn't matter
It's awesome that you can take a seed and in one season multiply it many times over and then the next season multiple many times over

It's absurd what people settle for on this planet
What life can be lived not knowing what is at our fingertips
All this the wealth of possibility

enviable. just like my greatgrandparents did with all the fruit their garden produced. it was a big one and they were constantly at work there, with the whole family involved (12 people) in maintaining the garden and preparing the products for storage. us kids would be sent to the cellar 'can you get us a glass of strawberries/pear/peach/plum/cherry' apples and potatos would be in the cellar too in large heaps. it was a postwar thing for them but a wonderful experience for us kids.

Why is this seemingly a touchy subject to you?
I'm just curious
I'm not making a stance to win people to my side or anything
If people are won in droves
There wouldn't have been any merit to their mind anyway
The jew is the one that needs to be convinced
So that he can back down his programs

I'm just pointing at the majesty of plants
And the horrid stink of failure that is a factory farm

Health is not something anyone even understands
They say all these things and back it up
with propaganda that was paid for by jew
that want to kill everyone
I see bread and my lifespan and make compromises when I see evil

I find it unwavering how insane it is
To not be willing to speak from a place of honesty

Yeah, slaughtering and butchering may not be that big a deal but you have to weigh the cost against the time and effort you could be spending doing something else. I've got a deal with my local butcher where he'll prepare a certain number of hogs and deer per year for a set price, and also give me consideration on any beef. It's not exactly cheap but I'm still filling my freezer with good quality meat for a fraction of what I used to pay the supermarket.

The main problem with potatoes is soil volume. You need a lot of very high quality soil so that they can spread underground. If your soil isn't loose you're not going to yield that many potatoes. It's definitely worth it to buy soil like peat humus for potatoes to mix into preexisting soil

Keep the suckers (root sprouts) trimmed, make sure the tree isn't stressed, and check for pests. If you've got pests treat them accordingly, if it's a soil or water problem remediate it, and if that doesn't work just cut it out. Cherry trees are usually grafted-- pure cherries have shitty roots so they combine the fruiting part of the tree with the roots from another-- and it's not uncommon for the root stock to be stronger than the fruit stock. You can usually keep it in check with just pruning but some are just too much to handle. Either way it'll take at least a year to see significant change.

The only difference now is that itโ€™s clear weโ€™re going to have to kill so very many of them. Donโ€™t count Trump out quite yet.
But, sure, so so many are going to have to die now. The earth cries out for the blood. The earth wants to take it in SO badly.
You see, their god demands the blood of of the innocent, The One True God, Our Lord, demands the blood of the guilty.
And weโ€™re going to give it to Him good and plenty. A cleansing is in order.
Imagine how hearty and fulsome those taters would be if they were nourished with the blood of the wicked.

I don't know cherry trees at all but your situation sounds similar to my blueberry bushes, they were old established bushes when I bought the property and the first year I removed all the fresh shoots then I stopped doing that and let the new growth happen and started pruning back the old established bush trunks, been doing that the past two and a half years and this past season the new growth fruited better than the old growth. So I'm going to really prune back the old growth this winter to make way for the new growth. Probably not the same case for you considering it's a tree and not a bush but probably worth investigating at least.

cherry trees are often implanted with a different species. what happens is the host plant develops root offshoots that can grow out some 10m and try to form new versions of the host tree. they should be cut near ground and be treated with white glue to avoid them coming back. worst case though, they take away energy from fruit production of the refined, implant.

funny thing, as these purchases from small gardens were subsidised, some people, like a school buddies of mine, would sell strawberries to the shop and have a friend buy them back, so they could sell them again. did you know, the jews never left germany?

easy up to certain extend. there were jobs back then for school kids, to help with the harvest and be able to take some of it home. the shop would pay like 4,50 for a large basket, but sell them for 4. it was a kind of an incentive to the small gardeners and nobody would have thought of abusing this but a certain people who are good with money. besides, it took several buyer boys to fool the shop more than once and the profit was very small. enough for ice cream with the girls tough and cake from the bakery next to the veggie shop.

Aphids are both a symptom and a cause of stress. They're pretty easy to control with pesticide and a bit harder to control with organic methods but it's doable. Make sure the tree isn't too wet (from what I recall cherries like good drainage and ventilation) and is well fed. A foliar spray will get you through the rest of the year and you can work in some manure and compost around the roots this fall and winter in preparation for next. Your sucker problem will get better as the tree matures and gets used to putting its energy into fruit production and upward growth but it'll never fully go away. The main problem is that cherries are kind of a bitch tree. They're native to a fairly specific place and generally don't like to grow anywhere else without a lot of work. For contrast I've got some naturalized pears and figs growing around here, along with some native plums and paw paws, and all they really need is occasional pruning and some top spread fertilizer. No suckers, aphids, scale, blight, or anything else, just keep them fed and picked and they're happy. Not trying to influence you either way but unless you just really want cherries you might do better with a more forgiving, local, fruit tree.

might be the problem as the mixture seems to set like concrete. sand not bad per se, but if there's really just sand, you might wanna sell the sand and get some soil delivered instead. might be more money in the sand than in doing veggy garden there.

Poopy isn't that great unless you compost it. Compost is the only real organic matter I have going in and I only use what I get from weeding and when plants die

You can take a plastic trash can and drill holes in the side and bottom for air and you now have a super composter

that's why it should be dried first and then mixed in at future root level. lot of work. respect for starting the endeavour. trash can for compost might be too small, should have the bottom sawed off, and would need a flap at the bottom where you can take out soil. my compost recently has fat cockchafer grubs en masse. considering going into bugmeat burgers now.

I threw some snake corpses in there so now I have robber fly larva which is what people used to have in their outhouses to eat all their shit

I'll leave the lids open so the chickens can eat them, pure protein for them

It takes so long for compost to form, even with cosntant watering of the trash cans that it's not really an issue dumping out the loose material on the top every 6 months or year to get to the goodness at the bottom

>just mix the soil
what soil, haha
