Mistake for Putin? No. He's too rich to feel consequences.
Mistake for Russia? Yes. Putin will throw bodies at this until he runs out of bodies.
Mistake for Ukraine? They should have joined NATO years go, to avoid being invaded.

Kiev killing 13,000+ Russians in Donbass 2014-22 'started' the war
Putin could win the war in 30 days by blowing up the Dnieper River bridges, but he doesn't do that, because he and Zelensky are partners in war profiteering and genocide of white Slavs

Picrel material was published in Russia in 2001 in the newspaper 'Slavyanin'. There was prosecution of the editor, V. F. Popov, for 'hate speech' during Putin's early years of rule, but the effort failed on grounds it was factual publication of what leading Jews said, and Russian intellectuals came to Popov's defence.
From the longer version - 2nd link below
>It is an undeniable fact that almost all the goals set out by Schneerson have now been achieved. This speech is simply the application of the Talmud to Ukraine and Russia.

In terms of Putin's own regime security, no. War was an excellent opportunity to consolidate total power and get rid of anyone he didn't like in the system, seperate wheat from the chaff as it were.

In terms of Russian state, yes. It's an economic black hole. They lost billions in foreign investment and deals, they made themselves into a pariah state in the eyes of European partners and completely reliant on Chinese goodwill. Putin's successors will have to build all the relationships from the ground up, with years lost in potential growth and losing markets that will have been replaced by other sources.
