Christianity is failing for many of the same reasons. It was originally a pretty masculine faith. Not it is all too often a gynocentric experience. Too many preachers, priests, and churches try to make everyone happy, try to appeal to the world instead of focusing on God and His teachings. This is a very feminine things to do. Women are generally compelled to conform, to make everyone happy, to avoid conflict, to seek to be popular by following the crowd. The undermines the message and purpose of the Gospel, and it turns men off from the church. Too many churches today seem like they're run by feminists/HR ladies. No man wants that, and without masculine leadership, eventually even the women get dissatisfied and leave.
This is sort of like what happens when a business it run and staffed completely by women. Nothing gets done, there is ever more bitchy, pointless infighting, and even the most diehard feminist eventually throws her hands up and quits. A church that is old school, uncompromising, cut out the frills, where the pulpit isn't some glorified night club stage, that kind of church tends to attract normal men, who in tern attract the less crazy women. Even when such churches don't grow to mega-church size, they become stable cornerstones of the community. Not everyone will be saved. Most people are too prideful, too shallow. Better to have smaller, steadier real churches than large, phony social clubs.
