Why Does MAGA Hate Art and Culture? Why is it Primary Driven by Philistine Trash?
What will it leave behind when it is gone in the next decade? What will people look back to and hold on to? Memes have no long term shelf-life. Where is the art? Where are the great works? It's all bad taste trailer park trash nonsense. Does this movement have no soul? Does it have no heart? What does it care about? What beauty does it bring into the world that did not exist before?

Art has almost always been the domain of the left wing. Almost every great artist you can name was left wing for their time. Even in cases that predate the left-right dichotomy, you often find that it still applies analogously

The Philistines were the enemies of Jews, so they probably were highly-cultured. Best not to use Jewish terms uncritically.

There is some truth to that but there are always exceptions. I will use recent examples because older ones are difficult. Wagner for instance was left wing during his day. Now he is mostly worshipped by the right. But he was a damn socialist by todays standards politically. But culturally he would be considered right wing to a degree. But in American film there are artists like John Wayne, Sam Raimi, John Milius who would be considered right wing. I don't know where Raimi and Milius stand on Trump but they were Bush supporters. So there are artists on the right. But you're right that the left dominates the arts historically.

Fair point and I will keep it in mind in the future.

>Sam Raimi
I thought those posts about him adding nigger lines were all memes KEK. Is he actually a rightoid? Or do his movies just have vague, possibly unintentional reactionary tendencies like Christopher Nolan or Miyazaki or whatnot? I never really got super deep into his filmography, mostly just know him for Toby Maguire Spiderman and Evil Dead

Karajan was by far the most overrated conductor of all time. He's good but not one of the greats.

Read the playboy interview. Easy to find with google. John Wayne was right wing.

He's better than Furtwangler. Who do you consider to be better?

Not even remotely true. It's just that America has no art in general since like the 50s.

I would argue the world has no art since the 1950s.

This is a national, or perhaps even a civilization-wide issue, rather than right wing issue, because everything that comes from the left currently is shit as well. They produce either garbage or blatant political propaganda. No one is producing anything great, so trying to frame this as being about the right specifically is disingenuous.

because they are defined by the Yin; an identity predicated on the other

the negative space in a painting, remove the painting and youre left with nothing.

thus can only be reactionary; so they just lower the collective vibrations of the country, but thats the intention

Because America is being purposely dismantled so these useful idiots serve a purpose

Furtwangler was a sloppy, overrated conductor. Listen to the performances. They're sloppy. I have hundreds of discs at this point of live recordings, radio recordings, the studio stuff he did before he died. He was fucking sloppy and inconsistent. His Beethoven 7th ruins the 2nd movement. It's abysmal garbage. I do like his fifth but there are way better recordings of the 5th than his. I think a great deal of his reputation is that people have convinced themselves that he was the "Good German" when really he was just as much of an opportunist as everyone else. If Furtwangler really had the courage of his so called convictions he would've left Germany. He didn't because like Karajan he was protecting his career. Same opportunist as everyone else.

I can add some insight, as a former leftist art appreciator.
When you realize your people are being genocided, it's hard to summon the sense of serendipitous delight that's required to engage with subversive, degenerate, or self-involved art.
The edgy anti-plot films I used to like just leave me cold. I want story, narrative, good and evil, vanquish and victory in my art now.

Soon lefties will cancel The Big Lebowski because it has all the elements you want, while masquerading as an anti-plot film for Redditors. Cohen Brothers are top tier Hollywood Jews who have to hide their power level. I think they actually like White people.

Barton Fink is one of my favorites from my previous life that I resist watching again.
Maybe it's time, and let the chips fall where they may.

Those who complain about gatekeeping....women....mostly....then....colored people....then queers.....

Why? Because gatekeepers were white men. And they did a damn good job of it. Created our western art world. Gatekeeping works. Its not perfect but it's better than what we have now.

It was simple meritocracy. By giving that up for DEI, we literally lobotomized America and gave our adversaries a 20 year edge in culture. Somebody has to plan this shit out and we had the wrong people doing it for a long time.

Modern art was incredible. Contemporary not so much. Unless you see things in person (the only way to view art) it's impossible to speak on what is what. Abstraction goes back centuries and is the furthest out you can take art. Its's all important, every type of art.

When's the last time you visited a museum? Of all the ones I've been to here I've never felt anything remotely similar to you. You do understand nothing digital can be art? You can't view art via a screen. Why even compare digital videos to film? There is no real memorial stage.

I chose film specifically as my example. I don't have to watch a film in a museum, or a theater for that matter, to respond to it and evaluate it.
