I like Japan because it is modern and clean and as a White immigrant there I feel like I am the nigger. That feels weird and different to me. Yet strangely the Japanese like me because I am German-American and the Germans were their Axis allies in WWII. As weird as it sounds I like being treated like the nigger for once.

I was walking alone at night in a poor area in an asian country. I felt a little naked with no gun. I started thinking of scenarios.

Then I realized I was more of a threat to my hosts than any of them were to me.

I've often thought about how I would rather be looked at as a second class citizen in Japan than continue to live in a dirty increasingly brown country with no identity of it's own. Not to mention the ever increasing surveillance, censorship, and garbage popular culture.
