1) resources are expensive. Look at Israel/Gaza. Realistically, both are fighting for the same reason. Israel needs more land and resources. They rely on Jordan for water but if they take the West Bank, they rely less on water. Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, wants Israel because it means they have total control over oil shipping routes.
