For a number of years, I´ve lived in the nexus of Mexican politics and crime, power and secrecy, journalism and propaganda. I´ve seen things to make El Chapo wince and Epstein blush. Thought I´d get some things off my chest. This seemed like the place.

Ooooo, a book just came out about Hells Angels and their ties to the Mexican drug trade called "Carteles Gringos". But the details are beyond my expertise, Im not in the Baja Peninsula. Where Im from real estate is its own mafia, tied to big business. But incidentally, members of that same "Real Estate Cartel" as we call it locally, has spots along the border to cross legal merchandise but avoiding taxes and legal filters... obviously they use it to smuggle drugs too. They bankroll local politicians.

I heard that the US government isn't really interested in shutting it down because there are a many corporations making bank supplying the Mexican government to fight an endless war against the narcos.

There was a case, where nepobabys hunted down women and it became the famous "femicides". They spun it into a case of "structural machista violence". But it was nepobabys killing and sexually assaulting women. Copycats gave rise to a snuff film craze and the real cuplrits never faced justice as a result, bc it became part of a "femicide" and "snuff film" narrative. Instead of what it was: bloodsport by the super-rich.

No. Only idealists want it gone. War is business. And in my opinion, it serves my team well too. The narco-war cant end. In chaos, you can destroy and create. Rearrange and reconfigure. Law and order bullshit constrains all involved parties, so no one wants it to make it harder on themselves to make decisions and win win win. And yeah, youre right. Its not in the interest of the US to shut it down either. The CIA and DEA and knees deep in this charade and the narco-war serves business interests, not just the military industrial complex, but big banks (money laundering), and industries you wouldnt even imagine. Meatpacking is one. Manufacturing too.

Northern Mexico. Best English fluency, more White Mexicans, better infrastructure, public services, higher standard of living, better economic conditions, close to the border, and the locals love sucking up to US nationals. In the north we´ve assimilated a lot of US culture so it´s less of a culture shock. This is Northern Mexico (border states, plus Nuevo Leon) or Northwest coast (Baja Peninsula, Sinaloa, Sonora)

Is there an off ramp in sight for our government? I mean is there a long term plan (I feel dumb just typing that) that groups are looking at as to where this thing is going? I feel like political capture by narco money is so overt, external pressure by the US so stressful and violence so unbearable that it surely has to arrive at some sort of climax.. The point is never to arrive at an "off-ramp". Its in in no ones interest. And, respectfully, you have it upside down, inverted: its not narco money capturing politicians or the state. Its the politicians and the business class controlling the cartels and using them as a private army to pursue political goals and business interests. The real cartel heads wear suits. The people we hear about like El Chapo or El Mencho, are the like the private security of faceless men (and women) in suits and high-rises. Example: just a couple weeks ago Mexicos most powerful senator was under scrutiny bc an arrest warrant was issued for his former Public Security Secretary, from when he was governor. He´s accused of FOUNDING a new cartel (La Barredora) that aided the CJGN in its rise. These criminal projects are founded at the top. From La Barredora to the Guadalajara Cartel, which was handled by the DFS (Mexican CIA counterpart in the 1980s); its founder, Felix Gallardo, the Godfather, was their agent.

As for the "steering into a coherent direction"... that´s where I think we need leadership. So far its greedy politicians and businesspeople seeking profit, no long term plan. If we had a leader, this war would have a goal. Not just racketeering, profit, short-term political goals and bloodshed.

What do you all think? Thats why Im still here too, bc so much bloodshed needs vision. Profit is petty.

Not OP but depending on what you mean by 'extremely ugly' it'll probably be hard to you to get a not 'extremely ugly' wife.

51k a year is a lotta for most of the population but for most of the attractive people here is not that impressive.

I think your main concern is the type of woman who'd be swooned by money and you being foreing. Poor people in Mexico are backstabbing, amoral, mouth breathers.

I genuinely believe that the mexican experiment is a bust, mexico's rotten to the core, from the poorest fag who can't even bother picking up his trash and raise his 10 kids to the richest kike cleaning his cum with checks while calling a hit on a political rival, ideally a nuclear bomb would be the best thing to happen to this country.

You're right, I should've specified I meant that political capture being overt was in relation of how the public, national and foreing, perceives the situation.

I find it hard to believe that not more mexicans know what you just said about the real capos not being illiterate people from the mountains that can magically manage billion dollar enterprises.

I have to say I'm dissapointed but not surprised about not being any long term planning. I remember in 06 when we declared a so called war and then we never got any follow up, did we win? Is it over? I know it's all smoke and mirrors but still it makes my blood boil to think of all the suffering this people have been through and how it's all ammounted to absolutely nothing. I digress.

New leadership? How'd that come to pass?

I'm talking about legitimate condos and really nice vacation homes in the middle of some rocky seashore overlooking the equatorial Pacific Ocean. The BC HA was notorious for being the richest of all HA chapters. They had to do away with the Vancouver Stock Exchange because the Triads and Angels were just walking in there wearing western leisure suits hand tooled cowboy boots lugging big hockey bags stuffed with cash from their $4billion a yea marijuana crop. I'd see them at the gyms I went to back in the day. The Russian gang too. Nice war they had. Kudos to the Alexei and Eugene for showing huge machismo and courage in the face of implacable odds.

You mention two extremely conservative cities. Queretaro I just know is very conservative and despite being in central Mexico it balances tradition with a cosmopolitan outlook, precisely bc of its business-oriented, conservative bubble.

Guadalajara is a metropolis. Its CDMX but at a slower, toned down pace. Real artsy and young- professional-oriented. Idk if that makes sense. But it comes with all the pluses and downsides of a usual metropolis in the US and Mexico. Pretty big expat community Guadalajara and Monterrey are like "jumping off" platforms for ambitious young professionals from the "provinces" or the "interior" that dont want the Mexico City frenzy or are warming up to it

What were you looking for exactly?

In my experience is the latter. Specially when you meet better off people and see the same traits you see in slums just slightly more civilized.

A lot can be said about spanish style colonialism and the effects it had on latin american culture. But I the more I see the more I'm convinced that there's something deeper in Mexico that makes people only respond to violence. Part human sacrificing aztec and part raping spaniard conquistador is a hell of a gene pool.

When did you know her? Bc it sure was true years back, for most parts of the country, for most people. But since the political transition in 2018 minimum wage has increased 125%, without inflation, lowest unemployment in the region, numerous redistribution programs for the disadvantaged, plus universal scholarships from elementary/primary school through high school, universal pensions from 60 years old for women and 65 for men (increase every year), 9 million mexicans leaving poverty, lower Gini coefficient (ineaqulity) etc etc etc

Without even getting into the politics of it, the standard of living of the average Mexican is objectively better. And Mexico is a different country from what migrants knew when they left, or what foreigners get in most media representations

>. Its the politicians and the business class controlling the cartels and using them as a private army to pursue political goals and business interests. The real cartel heads wear suits. The people we hear about like El Chapo or El Mencho, are the like the private security of faceless men
Zero evidence for this. I dont doubt theres collusion and mutual help between crime and politicians, but its not like politicians simply control all crime.

Are there any pre-contemporary historical analogies to help me better understand the state of Mexican society and politics? It's all so complex and fluid that it's hard for me to have even a basic grasp of the power structures or even how conflicts occur and are resolved. In some ways it feels as chaotic as post-Soviet states just after the breakup, and in others it feels like a Roman vassal state.

That's good to hear. She left Mexico in 2019 to do her PhD up here. As far as I know she hadn't been back. So hopefully things have improved since she left. But the way she described Mexico it sounded like it was a pretty rough existence for the average person.
She was originally from the Cancun area.

Most honest take you will probably ever see. Thanks. Be careful. Even daring to float a book about the maquiladoras and the fate of so many women coming for the work in Juarez was met with no, too gruesome. But it's truth. In the US, truth must be sanitized for the masses. Regardless, cartel is now exactly as you describe run by those in expensive suits. Tells me the more gruesome underpinnings are in other countries in close proximity and that must be the shit of nightmares. Mexico, lovely country, truly amazing people, marred by being the world's drug mule for many generations now. In order for that to be the money mainstay, violence is inevitable and overlooked because it is effective.
Feds set a course here to destroy the mob and when it took down most of it's influence, cartel and street gangs filled the void, by design seems. How else do you move such massive product if the actual Mafia is in the way with their rules and taking cuts? We already had factions waiting for the opportunities and it was seamless. And here we are. Dollars are the most addictive thing on the planet and people are extremely expendable, whole nations even.

So people that can barely read and write fresh off the sierra are running these giant billion dollar corporations? How are they setting up meeting with international banks to launder their money?

OP is right, look into Adán Augustos' scandal in Tabasco regarding his secretary of security and La Barredora.

Government has more than one kill switch to shut down these cartels, they could freeze their money, they could make drugs legal, they could bomb encampments, they could decapitate leadership simultaneosly across the whole country, not saying any of these solutions are without drawbacks but it sure is weird that out of all of this the only thing they chose to do over and over is to 'collude' with them and attack whichever group is threatening theirs.

Leaving the gritty details of politics, cartels and violence aside… I’m more interested in how has all this shaped you personally. When you look at yourself what do you see? Do you sleep well? What kind of personality one has to have to remain involved and not perish? The US would except business is good. Dark money does amazing things that wouldn't get done otherwise. We are in no position to take down anything going on in Mexico. We are the cash cow and they are ours. Interesting times though making our border a military zone. Once the president is done with his last term they will pack up and leave and that's a lot of bottled up business waiting to happen. Tsunami of nefarious ahead shortly. And we take it and more. Doesn't have to be that way but it is.

1) resources are expensive. Look at Israel/Gaza. Realistically, both are fighting for the same reason. Israel needs more land and resources. They rely on Jordan for water but if they take the West Bank, they rely less on water. Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, wants Israel because it means they have total control over oil shipping routes. Iran supports Saudi Arabia & Palestine because Palestine is more ideologically aligned with them than Israel. In the case of drug cartels, no one else will enter in the market because the competition is so high you might die for it, so you just negotiate with an existing cartel and hope they see your vision

2) wars are a long term investment. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. So even losing allows you to negotiate. But if you don't fight, you are effectively agreeing you don't have a problem
3) combat readiness. Having a group of people with combat experience means no one else messes with you. You have a private security
4) you fortify important resources. Say you have a stronghold somewhere. You can send a bunch of resources. Even if you lose, this place is now more in line with your beliefs. It could be you got all the perfect ways to move in supplies and weapons. Could be the people like you

Those are some insightful questions... makes one refelct.

It has definitely made me more cynical. I was idealist, I was an activist, I was a proud journalist with an agenda.

And now I understand that to achieve that agenda we need to make unspeakable alliances. To shut up and obey when it´s necessary. Blood, guts drugs, abuse, sex, injustice, desperation, adrenaline, pride... it becomes part of the every day. And I´ve learned to accept that to make things better, we can´t be afraid to do bad, to be worse than the adversary... but for a better cause.

I´ve had my scares. Times when I thought I was done. And I live in permanent stress that the few people I care about will be victims. Either because they´re collateral (family) or they´re involved (friends, acquaintences).

What keeps me ticking? Not money, like a lot of the people I share this profession with.

If there´s something I´ve learned it´s not to pursue money. Pursue power.

Sounds cliche. But in this profession those who pursue money are usually the mid-levels. The ones who obey. The ones who pursue power are the ones who command. And I´ve seen it in my adversaries.

What keeps me ticking is that few people are so deep in this hellhole to be able to change it, and not being afraid to do worse in able to make things right.

You basically have your own zelensky

And no one thinks to wonder about that una 99.9% christian country ...

>The 2020 Mexican census reported approximately 58,876 Jews, which accounts for around 0.05% of the population aged five and older .

Yeah I got a question why are beaners so fucking nasty and violent. Are you guys just genetically retarded and inferior; or is there some sort of weird goverment thing going on where a bunch of young einsteins are just getting recruited into the cartels? I'm only asking because I noticed your country is an absolute shit hole. And obviously it's the people. But are the people forcing the people to be fucktarded or are you inherently fucktarded ?

How do we make Mexico not so fucking gross ?

The Jewish fixation is entirely from people in the US-Anglosphere. Mexicans dont really take the Jewish ethnicity into account in politics (for good and for bad)

But I´ll make some things clear:

1) she is not a Zionist
2) yes, she was backed by Soros-adjacent and Soros-tied financial interests, like all presidents before her
3) She´s not religiously Jewish
4) she´s let the jewish lobby keep their influence and doesnt openly fight them (BAD, AND IM OPPOSED)
5) she´s not a sellout and responds to deep-state pressures and political incentives that supercede the jewish question
6) you cant superimpose and project US dynamics onto Mexico, as in this particular subject. its much more complex and though there´s things to criticize she cant be reduced to this one question
7) there is infighting in the Army and the Federal General Attorney in regards to this question, bc of Israeli tech/infiltration/equimpment/extradition requests/etc and her posture has not been to favor the zionist position

this is all much more interesting and complex than just, "jewess rules catholic country". she is no zelensky.

Let me tell you a secret: the best place in all of Mexico is the port of Veracruz. Everywhere else is a shithole, boring small town/rancho full of violent subhumans regardless of race.

The people of Veracruz, even though there are darker Mayans and descendants of Africans and Cubans, are a HELL of a lot better than the violent subhumans from the north. Cartel started from the poor faggots in the north with their circus music.
white French Mexicans used to exist, until they killed and fucked them all.

I do not care where gringos are gathered and congregated, Americans are spiritual niggers.

Make Veracruz not white, not gringo, European again. and do not change a fucking thing regarding my politics and my food.

American Gentrification = Spiritual niggerdom. I wish we could get them all the fuck out of here.

Indios rebelled violently against the elite whites keeping them farming and doing field Rancho work and never escaping poverty until one day gringos showed up with their evil and offered them some homosexual tough guy bullshit.

Mexican history is pretty basic, if the Indios are not trying to gang rape the white girls or do pedophilia against boys, they're keeping their head down pretending to be "good people" and "Christian"

they're not keeping their heads down anymore.
All of this is the work of Americans and their beliefs imposed on us to empower the Indios.

Couldn't have said it better myself. The only way you deal with demons like the cartels is to be worse than them, you send the demons from the Private Military Companies and Private Intelligence Groups to clean them up at home in the middle of the night like they are the boss from the end of that movie "SICARIO"... You can never win unless you can make them remember what fear is while removing all the profit and fun from the business and lifestyle.

The Americans won't give a single iota of a fuck about the drug business so long as migrant smuggling ceases. I don’t live in some weird town like bumfuck nowhere town with only a few hundred residents out in the desert, mountain or farms fields.
Which would explain it being some crazy story that you goes on in places where on my like max 5 people can see what happened.
So you can just ignore because only 5 people could be wrong
No it is a fairly populated town with half a million residents
I also seen phenomenon in the
Bumfuck no where towns at night all around my city that is easily another 400 thousand at least just within the 50 mile range of towns I have been to at night since December to witnesses that can see these giant obviously not human lights that make no noise and can turn invisible with a predators like effect of distortion

My dad is from there and I´ve visited often. The countryside and the highways are hell. Beautiful though. Extremely beautiful, I have family at the foot the Popocatepetl volcano and it´s a fucking sight.... but the capital city itself is pretty chill. Tourist friendly, pretty big (top 4 biggest I believe) and extremeley walkable, amenable.

Just the highways are fucking hell and dangerous (extortion, robbery) and countryside towns, as I was told, you only go if you know people there so you can move and sightsee, etc.

>As for the "steering into a coherent direction"... that´s where I think we need leadership. So far its greedy politicians and businesspeople seeking profit, no long term plan. If we had a leader, this war would have a goal. Not just racketeering, profit, short-term political goals and bloodshed.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Commission_(American_Mafia)

The cartels all need to be run by figures who are basically intelligence agency assets who form a governing body between all the cartels like "The Commission" the Italian American Mafia formed in the early days to keep the money flowing in and the heat down. The American Mafia did a lot of good back in the day and they were known for dealing with petty, unaffiliated criminals harshly, it's good for the community and public relations and helps maintain a positive image where it's critical. If the narco wars continues to get worse, Mexico runs the risk of actually being invaded by America or other parties on top of collapsing entirely outright if things spiral out severely enough.

Big reason I'm saying this is because some cartel assholes went to Ukraine and committed terrorist massacres on BOTH sides of the border like ABSOLUTE MONKEY RETARDS. Only a dumb motherfucker would rape, rob and murder a bunch of innocent Russian women and child before leaving them in mass graves before returning back to Ukraine to do the exact same shit against their employers civilians. (Many of the offenders who did this are either already dead or are basically scheduled for unavoidable deaths by international intelligence authorities)

The short and simpler answer is USUALLY the correct answer.

Shitbaum was elected and appointed by the cartels.
Mexico is a failed nation. It has been failed from day one: 27th Sept 1821.
The only times Mexico has been great ate 1521-1821 (as the Core of the Spanish Empire) , then in 1862-1867 (Maximilian Empire) and 1876-1910 (Porfirio "GigaChad Thundercock" Díaz presidency)

Funnily enough, when fucking indios were told to keep their ugly heads down and lesdership was done by Europeans or castizos at the very least.
It is time for the White Man to rule above you, animals, once more.

In other words, El Chapo is a pasty. El Mencho is a patsy. The real culprits wear suits and they profit from and direct the drug trade from Langely, Mexico City, Wall Street etc

Interesting that the so called 'heads' of cartels would be considered puppets though - I mean, it checks out when you look at some of their terrible OpSec though.
What about the other chapo brothers who aren't attention-whoring like ovidio? just puppets too?

America has been amazing to us, they literally gave us voting rights, and the same privileges as white men. Now we have to deal with retards flooding in from mexico trying to start up their cartel shit, your trash everyday littering this fucking place. You couldn't keep the fucking indios under control. Mexico has NEVER been able to keep it's shit under control. Not even during the mexican-american war with all the infighting. It's sad what you have degenerated into, hispanics as a "race" suffer the consequences of your actions every day.

They´re useful functionaries, operatives. But they´re not leadership. They respond obey and are incentivized by dynamics imposed by higher up actors. Hence the whole Guzman family being let into the US.

And a side-note, its not like they (the capos, chapos, cartel "leaders") are willing participants, but rather are players in a game where theyre not the biggest fish, nor do they impose the rules.

you keep saying "the war can never end", but your country is a shithole compared to peaceful, prosperous countries. not that those countries don't have their own forms of corruption, but the most successful countries are not violent. well, not within themselves. they outsource violence to countries like you and exploit your suffering to become rich. but the best benefits of the war will never be seen by Mexico itself. truly successful countries are not internally violent, they exploit the violence of other countries. so, as long as your war continues, you will never be at the top of the pyramid. I'm not as naive as some others to think that humanity is going to hold hands and sing kumbaya anytime soon - I wish, but we're a long ways from achieving that. but I don't really understand why you are so bent on perpetuating violence that keeps your country below others. surely you can see that? you don't have the wealth and the security of the USA or western Europe or east Asia, and you never will as long as this "war" continues. but I'm sure the US is more than happy for you to continue. but hey, if you're happy being a lapdog to the real players, so be it.

Unironically many of the gringos who use this place are pretty weak and pathetic, they pretend to be hard because they haven't actually been shot at before. (It's not fun)

Yes, to most of your points. I will engage in good faith.

It´s not that I want it to go on, but it´s a reality and realistically this is our context. We are in this mess because we wanted to, we are in this mess because we are neighbors to the US. You cant change this geographical fact. The war will go on as long as the US consumes and supplies weapons, and DO YOU think that will end soon? I don´t either.

So, let´s take a stretegic political science, sociological, geopolitical approach. Violence to rearrange and reconfigure.

I´d be thrilled if this wasn´t our reality. But Mexico lives in a geopolitical cage. And as long as the US exists as it does now, it will export its war to us.

We cannot be idealists. And so I look back on the 2000s political transition in which the drug trade was reacommodated, same thing can happen in this political transition. With a better vision and strategy.

I´m not a doomer playing into US hands. I´m recognizing the PAINFULLY REAL existence that is being next to the most powerful and drug-addicted, arms-exporting, violent empire history has seen.

I honestly wouldn't mind. Sovereignty, yes, and what have we done with it? It's not like Mexico would cease to exist, it just would be Mexico under the Mexico-US-Canada federation, like Hungary in Austria-Hungary. Just explain tot he indios that you are not outlawing chilaquiles, the Spanish language, and the Virgin Mary.

They didn't fucking do that us, it's unironically not a bad deal. Some tejanos fought for it, others like my people were offered it. It has only done good for us, sorry for seeing the light, and trying to pitch it to these guys. My parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents lived in economic prosperity because of it. My nightmare would be if my family didn't take that deal.

Yes and the genius of the United States is that more states can just be added and added on. Theres no precedent or history to say not to. The history and precedent is to expand and add more states and grow the union. Katamari Damacy. If canada and mexico join the US, there might be other countries who want to join and who knows what happens from there. Could be good. At the minimum, the combination of our 3 countries would be very powerful and control a lot of natural resources. Like a significant amount of the world's supply of oil is in the US Canada and Mexico. It would be a behemoth. Who knows what's possible if we combined into a even more super super power. It would definitely scare a lot of people if it were too happen. They would feel very uncomfortable by massive America and what massive America is capable of. Would be good. Could bring about peace

Look man I don't know how else to say it but our reputation as a race is that we are savage idiots who chop eachother and act like niggers, I feel like as a race we should distance ourselves from that as much as possible, it's not rocket science. I feel shame every day knowing that this is our reputation.

There would be no loss of liberties. What rights would they be losing? Their self determination? Theyd still have that within their land. They would gain a lot.

If canada and mexico join the US , there are no limits to the size of the US. Other countries may decide they want to join. Dont necessarily have to be contiguous like cananda/US/mexico. The US could expand even further. That would really be something the world hasn't seen before. I think theres a lot of potential to the US if canada and mexico join. We'd be a lot more powerful together. I think it could work

Eh. You try to give people a chance and have some hope, thats not a bad quality. He doesnt have anything to add. Many such cases. The future is not meant for people like him who are crabs in a bucket. They will always be coping and seething no matter what happens.
Like you said Mexico has had many years of sovereignty and you can see the results. US is of similar age and you can see the results here. Or look to canada also similar age and the results there. Which way do you want to go? I think Mexicans can make a reasonable decision about joining the US if it was offered. Its a fair deal and I think both parties would benefit. I understand pride is an impediment, and I get that. But at some point a better future could be possible. We'll see what happens
Hopefully all of North America can prosper.

The positive impact on the hispanic race would be enough for me to like that idea. I mean I kind of get you were ruled by spain, then you were free, then you were sabotaged, but in it's current state what are you even fighting for? You are fighting for a government over the betterment of the race tbqh. I mean I swear to god 99% of the time you say hispanic, people think mexico.
