Npr and pbs were no where near neutral as any publicly funded programming should be.

I remember as a kid watching PBS. Every year they would have a pledge drive talking about how they needed money. Now I learn they got billions from the government. Greedy fucks.

If people actually wanted this stuff then why can't it survive without public funding, as most other radio and television programs do?

Sad. Not for what it is now, that needs to go. It's sad for what it once was. Thisnis a mercy killing. I hope it returns someday as it once was and was meant to be. I hope this will be a cleansing fire that allows it to be reborn from the ashes as something good and beautiful for america and it's people again.

Good riddance. Most people were willing continue paying them to be smug liberal shits, but they totally lost the plot and ruined everything, as they do.

The only thing these faggots ever did that wasn't abysmal slop or anti-white propaganda was two of their nerds laughing about HWNDU in a podcast about ten years ago. The tone was like "I disagree with the alt right but you have to admit that's pretty funny..." and nope, no common understanding is allowed as the whole point of the media is divide and rule. So it was deleted. And we never saw any sign or acknowledgement of our common humanity from the lefties in the media ever again.
Rest in piss, learn to code shit heads.

They did plenty back in the day. When I was a kid they played a BBC radio play of Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy that was one of the greatest things I've ever heard.

It's so very far beyond that at this point. NPR in particular is like a god damn caricature of the far left. There about as biased as you can be without actively advocating for the bombing of federal buildings as part of a red revolution. It's too biased for even the majority of the left. I'm gonna miss some of the old PBS stuff though. Gonna post the DW dat ass pasta for posterity.

look at television that does survive without it. pretty wretched. frontline's better than 60 minutes. the corporate underwriting ads (i.e. commercials on pbs) are snooty but less irritating than ads on commercial networks.
i don't watch tv though so i dont really give a fuck, lol

You don't need the government paying for 200 hours of troon storytime for every one hour of re-running that special about Irish women singing on a castle.

they used to do like 15 minute stories about shit happening all over the world. now it's just 100 stories on racial inequalities and then 100 stories on fag shit. they were always on the left and i was ok with that because i didn't feel like listening to pop music or rock music i had heard a million times. i actually even donated to npr a few times. but fuck them, they're trash. i'll just listen to pop music instead.

We were funding our own pozzed globohomo brainwashing lol.
Anonymous (ID: u7raumqy) United States No.512020131
Also consider that PBS basically exists to transfer US taxpayer money to the BBC which was already somehow getting like $8 billion a year from USAID anyway.

Give it two weeks and the BBC will implode lol.

I find myself coming back to that thought every week, at least. It disturbs me greatly and deeply, especially since I'm old enough to start picking over some of my earliest memories in school and recognizing these various ideological 'payloads' were being dropped on kids pre 1980's if not a whole lot earlier.

as with all of these cuts keep an eye on what gets closed down in the coming months. many things you didn't expect will turn out to be indirectly funded downstream by CPB money. They filter and launder this shit through many layers.

They always were. The fundraising drives and telethons were a marketing campaign. It was about making people feel connected to the product and getting their data in a file so they could sell it to advertisers and merchandisers. If you donated to say PBS you would get ads and magazine offers for all kinds of other shitlib stuff they know PBS watchers would like. PBS sold your info to them haha.

A certain type of person (women, libtards) responds well to being "part of" the brand. They see PBS and NPR as the underground and THEY have the power to support it. They love hearing about how they are someone the little engine that could, scraping their way to funding against all odds.
