I think it's deeper than that. It also has to do with just how society has generally declined since it peaked in the 90s-00s, zoomers and millennials have no wealth comparatively speaking, and the culture has just gotten insane and rotten. The American dream is what kept people believing in the idea of democracy over fascism, but now everybody knows that's complete horseshit.
