I hate a lot of things about Australia and a lot of our bullshit laws, but the one famous Australian law I do defend is our gun control. I know it's not a popular opinion, but it's good that Australia requires a person to have a valid reason to own a firearm; such as being a hunter, farmer, collector, etc. Guns shouldn't be instantly available to the majority of the civilian population. The average person is too dumb and lazy to handle the responsibility of gun ownership/

The licencing requirement is fine, could be improved if limited to whites but the restrictions on firearms permitted is extremely gay. I saw gel tests on youtube (garand thumb) where they put shirts in front of the gel blocks and the hollow part of the bullet (pistol caliber iirc) caught the fabric of the clothes everytime. So the end result is an fmj that doesn't penetrate as much as regular fmj. Hope this saves you money in the future.
