Things will make more sense to you if you consider that any casualty number that comes out of Ukraine is completely bogus. Last time I checked the official Ukranian position is that they have only lost 35,000 troops KIA which is just obviously not true.
The numbers they give for Russia are obviously bogus as well if you think about it at all. If they had lost 1 million men the war would literally already have ended with a Ukranian total victory, which it hasn't

And they move slowly for two reasons, Ukrainian fpv defensive network, and russiam offensive doctrine, which is to soften up and flank once its been established that large offensive maneuvers cannot be effective. They will however constantly attempt larger maneuvers once a target area is suspected to be soft enough. Its by the book, they also suffer from outdated and ill kept logistic capabilities and of course corrupt middle level commanders. But they are advancing quite far since the collapse of avvidivka last year.

Well in this conflict it's pretty clear that platoon level offensives are the only way to advance outside of a few successful mechanized assaults, which are usually used once a specific area has been softend up. So in your mind, should russia be going faster because it would make you feel good? Or if Ukraine was doing as good as you say, be able to do their own offensives?
