In Europe there were lists and info that were hidden away so that they will not see daylight after East Germany fell. For example here in Finland we have stasi list, that has names of some stasi informers and there has been lot of speculation who are on the list but they will keep it from public unitl 2050.

I guess they use similar argument in US for not releasing the Epstein list.
