We shouldn't forget about Epstein. It's something on which Trump is vulnerable because he's involved -- full stop. But we can't tunnel on it. Remember that Trump's entire strategy, as formalized by Bannon, is to flood the zone with shit.
Epstein is a strong political win. But it's not THE win, and it's not good to forget that Trump is actively testing the waters. His vulnerability on Epstein is also an opportunity to take advantage of the media focus to pursue other, illegal goals. In other words, he's not a terrible president ONLY because of Epstein. Behind the scenes is a constant churn of extralegal actions and erosions of our rights as citizens. For example, look for Trump to deploy the military more often domestically and to more aggressively breach Posse Comitatus. We need to remain agile and, while never allowing Epstein to fully go out of scope, incorporate it into a broader narrative of lawless activity both personal and in his executive capacity.
Otherwise, the ship will keep sinking... we'll just have a cathartic slogan to shout as we slip into authoritarianism.
