How the fuck are you supposed to work your way up?
25 year old Zoomie. I have spent the last few years going through hiring agencies to do work as they pay significantly more (6$+ pay diff) compared to your average low skill job and its the only way to get your foot in the door for production companies and factory work. You are basically scab labor with no rights and can be fired on a whim by your employer and they constantly dangle temp employment infront of your face.
I have had 3 jobs working in a factory as a temp worker and they constantly dangle permanent positions as a reward but never hire you. I have gotten sick or missed a few days due to a family accident (like my niece being in a car wreck) and been fired for missing less that 4 days despite having no prior misses and never being late.
The only other options are
>Start your own business (lol)
>Go to a tech school/college and hope you get a job.
What the fuck is the point. There is basically no way up and no way to get your footing.

Thats actually the issue. These companies will not hire you without you going through a temp agency. They want complete control over the ability to terminate your contract and fire you without any reason and not have to pay insurance. The only alternatives are grocery store tier jobs which are not even enough to pay for groceries, or again, starting your own business.

same NEET bro, but at this point i'm bored out of my mind, so i got qualified for cushiest job i could find, "web security". But i am STILL bored, so might try to do something reckless like a startup by next year if i can find a couple of local NEETs as lazy as i am. Some shit like "an alarm system for your network that works just like the one on your warehouse!" kek, i'm a genius. The aging boomers around me will buy it for sure.

Point is being a NEET is great when you look for jobs, because you dodge all those "have a degree just to make minimum wage and be a total bitch for years, struggling to make ends meet in some expensive city" jobs. I mean they're pretty obvious when you know what to look for, but when you're young and anxious to get a job you think you have no choice. For a NEET, every job competes with NEETing so i wouldn't take almost anything from these only adverts. In fact i have a bio degree, but these jobs are cancer, sheesh

You don't work your way up anymore. If you look all the industries, everything has adopted the pay-to-play model. Pay for a degree, pay for certification, pay to opportunity to even apply for certain high demand positions.

The reason for this is that there are simply too many people, and jobs are now so easy to perform that they don't required any unique individual talent or aptitude. It's only going to get worse as AI begins to perform daily decision making tasks. So pay the money, and you'll have your chance for the HR Jew to make you their golem of choice.

This quite literally doesn't work for most cases, especially in small towns. Your options are essentially
>Boat/vehicle mechanic
>Some sort of handyman
>Detailing
>Maybe alcohol production for something unique or rare like mead
>Lawn service/pressure washing
Pretty much all of those are filled up and don't have any wiggle room, while a craftsman's trade or alcohol production have quite the high barrier to entry due to licensing and production costs.

Unironically only viable if the area around you is hiring for what you want and you have the ability to do so. I have EMT/FF certs but they genuinely pay less with less hours than warehouse labor while being price locked with nearby towns or other counties.

Just to add, this started majorly happening around the late 80s/early 90s, but it's fully taken hold now. There was a workaround that emerged with interning (you do free work with only minor qualifications), but that got sealed up as now interning basically requires full "HR qualifications".

And yeah, HR was a huge factor in this. They use certified third-party qualifications to justify their decisions and overall role. And to get that, you need to pay.

anon, dunno what to say, except that the scab undocumented lifestyle is perhaps the way to live.

Here one could not find, at least i could not, in two different counties, a day labourer on the black market cheaper than 90$ a day (8 hours) + meal + breaks, and ouf course that guy has 0 income, and is on whatever social aid scheme he can get in on. The practice over here is if they do not get paid on that day they will not shop up again. dunno how it is in america, but i expect it would go somewhere around 120/150 $ a day, and again all cash, no taxes, 0 fiscalized income.

so i think the way to go is to get in on the people who run day laborer crews, and as a native American you probably have decent changes to run one in five or ten years, and also get the skills to maintain or even build your own house in the meantime. also have 0 income, since you are cash only black market and get all the EBT, Section 8, Social Security funds from the US gov.

It costs more to pay the overhead of a temp agency than to have a full time employee who has their shit together. If you keep getting fired instead of taken on full-time you're probably a useless retard.

>Start your own business
i mean unironically this

you still need experience SOMEWHERE
most successful companies have founders that comes from a niche, found something they can do better and were the only ones doing it

you can always start a craft / workshop business
but that usually requires minimal skill as well
vocational training is cheaper / easier to find that university though (at least in Germany)
it's a bit easier to get profitable, compared to a "startup", but also the ceiling is lower

>there are simply too many people
That's the most retarded, economically illiterate take possible
More people means MORE jobs normally. More people also means MORE chaos and MORE opportunity.
What really matters is resource availability. How easy capital is to access. Back in the 80s in some places you could go to a bank with a paper with your business idea on it and they'd throw a loan your way with only minor collateral. If you had a successful bar before, you'd get a full starter loan to start another. Now you need significant collateral, and in fact you might not even get one regardless. You need to deal with private investors.

If your nation's resources are locked to a segment of the population who hoards it unproductively, you're fucked. Think of the boomers hoarding houses and capital, or 401k, think banks also inflating real estate. Think the startup culture laundering cash back and forth. Hell think videogames moving hundreds of millions for dumb ideas. As long as the money is circling 20% of the population it doesn't matter how many people you have. Your industries will stagnate, you won't have jobs, and your nation will claim huge GDP growth every year while most people get poorer. You need resources to circulate freely and fall into productive activities first. It's very easy when you're undeveloped and got a lot of resources, almost impossible in a mature economy. It's why large successful empires tend to fail. Bureaucratization and less available markets makes it almost impossible to keep resources flowing correctly.

I quit going to work after I realized 90% of the time I'm just wasting my time doing pointless shit nobody cares about and not getting ahead in life.
I worked there a lot over the past 12 years and the wagie community was a major factor in my decision to not work anymore. NEETs did it to an extent as well but WAGIES are far worse.
Someone could give a long drawn out and factually accurate explanation of what would have to happen for me to even be able to one day buy a home and have a family and why working was fraudulent. The post would get a dozen responses of
>WHY SHOULD YOU EAT?
>when you know you know
>economic collapse is coming
>stack metals the end is nigh
>keep waging faggot
>100% eoy silver will reach 5k an ounce
Or some equally long schizo post explaining numerology, using bible scripture and random posts here explaining how by the end of the year billions will be unemployed because of the AI.
Here we are.
After seeing the nothingburger today I came here just to watch the seething and suicide letters. It’s beyond EOY, the jobs didn't disappear, the banks didn't collapse (unfortunately), no more use cases and all the dirty laundry is out in the air now.
It’s not going to be Millennial's Economic Paradise, it will not be the Roaring 20's all over again. The world will not be descending into hyper deflation and prosperity (as was obsessed over for months/years) it will be going on as usual with no major gains or rewards.
I will enjoy watching wagies burn every step along the way.

you discovered franchising

and sometimes it works out

but usually it's either
extremely expensive and kinda profitable (e.g. McDonalds which can easily be 1mil+ but lots of support)
or cheap but a big gamble (e.g. Subway and they just approve 2 other shops on the same street as you kek)

also many scams
a Donut franchise guy in Germany was just "busted" for his bullshit money grab

gastronomy is a tough and often unrewarding business

I would always recommend utility/infrastructure work. No, not as a “contractor” because these are just scumbags that do the basics wrong. Find the actual company running the show and go work for them, on their books
>but I can make more money contracting!
Yeah you can. You can also make no money when the work dries up or some moron you work with kills someone on the job, causing you to lose your employer the subcontract. Water, gas, power and telecom aren’t going anywhere and if you can do one of those to a good standard you will make decent money and have a stable job. If you are anywhere near a seaport, air freight or rail depot look into that too. If you’re really desperate look at highways work but that can be grim
