There's not a lot happening in most of it. Brazil is almost entirely mountainous with the exception of the Amazon River basin which makes it very difficult to develop. Almost 90% of people live in coastal areas, compared to 40% in the US.

>What goes on here?

Every little region has their own great adventure.

North:

>Mythical states filled with ruins of ancient unnamed civilizations from before 10k before Christ. Has an industrial city Manaus surrounded by the largest jungle in Brazil, pretty much a frontier city surrounded by mystery.
>you can fight wars between indians, farmers and environmentalists
>you can fight aliens and tic tac probes they send in Para (we disclosed the space fuckers much before americans, we fight them)
>there is the venezuelan invasion and the mystery mountains in Rondonia, filled with gold and gems, but much inacessible to humanity

Northeast:
>states made to be controlled by a handful of families who play a game of thrones-like dispute of inner marriage and informal wars to consolidate power. It is a mostly underdeveloped region that's better described by feudalism than anything else

Center:
>you find the farmers that keep this country alive by being the only people who work
>you find the managerial leeches of BrasΓlia, the closest thing on Earth to the Imperium of Man, who control this nation with an iron fist. The people here are the richest on Earth per capita, yet they do not produce anything

Southeast:
>here you get the GTA Cyberpunk Brazil experience, with favelas and frontline urbanization. There are no happy endings, all that matters is becoming a legend of the city and living an interesting life before the city (inevitably) puts you down

South:
>here is mystery land where we received every single loser from every single war on Earth. Confederates who refused to accept defeat to Lincoln in the american civil war? They have a city there. Japanese samurai from the failed Satsuma rebellion? You bet. City where mixed women give birth to aryan twins after Dr. Mengelle escaped Nuremberg trials and lived there? You got it.

It is a choose your adventure country. Also, there is this great anomaly that has its ground zero here.

I hear that latin american border match natural barriers but not really. You only see this with Chile, which is truly geographically isolated, and i guess Brazil is separate from other regions by the amazon.
The andean countries have no specific natural barriers in between, they have many mountains that might as well split their countries internally. For instance Colombia has at least 3 naturally isolated regions, the coast, the central mountains and the amazon, but its well connected to Venezuela through plains. Peru, Bolivia and Equator are all extremely mountainous and literally every provice is isolated from the others, hence everyone lives on the coast except the bolivians, whom are not very numerous.
Paraguay has no natural barriers, its likely allowed to exist as a bufer state.
