All Mexico adjacent states are trashed up. You're in a shitty area though, why would you think moving to a city would be a good idea? Cities everywhere are trash, get far away from the big cities. That's my advice, I moved to Phoenix thinking it would be better than Southern California, and it was just Socal 2.0. Got out to rural Arizona and it's like heaven. At least highly livable compared to that trash pit. A city is a city anywhere you go, they all suck.

Spent a number of years in Texas and now in the PWN. The PNW has Texas beat hands down. Texas is legitimately too damn hot to enjoy anything outdoors 7 months of the year.

I'd pick Eastern WA or Idaho over Texas if I come back stateside all day any day.
