Yeah I know it's bad right now, but it's gonna get worse. We have to do something about it unironically before they start banning places like here, which at this point are the last line of defense against this shit. I recently saw that people were combating that collective shout cancer by spamming the fuck out of the paypal call centers and help services until they eventually gave in (I think mastercard is still cucked atm though). We need a similar tactic but for these draconic overlord governments instead, what could we do to them that would FORCE them to listen to us? I don't mean terrorism or something violent, but something that makes their life so shitty and miserable that they have to give into our demands. Protests don't work and they just get ignored, it needs to be something more impactful, something that directly targets them.

Technologically, if major platforms start complying with these bills, the solution to get around them is federated software. Governments have limited resources for prosecuting lots of different web services and depend upon you using a core set of large platforms that they can bully around. Federated software allows a lot of people to use more or less the same service, but on different platforms. I have an account on site A, you have an account on site B. If either A or B goes down, we can move to site C without needing our friends to leave. We can have hundreds, thousands of these sites all interoperating, and the government will have a difficult time because any time they take one site down, another can easily pop up in its place.

In practice, this means Peertube for video hosting, Matrix for (group) instant messaging and video calls, and Fediverse as your social media replacement.
