Why do boomers prefer a sterile desert over real gardens?

Flower gardens take a considerable effort, especially in seasonal locations. It has to become a hobby if you're serious about it. Most people just want to end their 9 to 5 and enjoy media slop the rest of the time.

Who said anything about flowers? There are all kinds of low maintenance plants that you can arrange and have a much more interesting landscape than a lawn. Personally I like having some trees outside casting shade so I can hang out there on a hot day

Modern cargocultism based on shit they saw their parents and grandparents doing while not understanding why they did it. When you live in the woods in overgrown grassy areas you want to create a bug and critter exclusion zone surrounding your house out to a certain distance to keep your shit from being infested by wildlife you don't want in your cellar or attic. Their elders probably tried to teach them why they were being given chores to mow and chop and uproot weeds near the home but a lot of them weren't paying attention. Generations later you have people trying to turn the entire world into bug and critter exclusion zones because they have a warped and extremely flawed worldview based on half remembered fragments from generations before. There are a lot of things like this but the suburban landscaping issue is one manifestation that almost everyone has some experience with.

Americans are lazy and soulless. Gardening is a true Aryan activity. All across Europe everyone gardens. The poorest old lady in a shitty commie block gardens and has flowers growing all around the commie block building.

Americans arent Aryan and have no soul. Also they're fat and lazy and don't tolerate the climate they choose to live in which is hot and humid.

My wife and I have so many flowers inside and outside our house that you wouldn't fucking believe it. When we moved here it was just forest. Aryans beautify the land as an end in itself. We don't do it for money, we do it because our Aryan soul compells us.

I do not like lawns, I view them as make work nonsense, something you have to go out and fucking cut constantly, aesthetically they are not pleasant to look at, If I ever own property I will landscape it and have nice plants and rocks and statues and shit, not a fucking lawn that I have to mow ever few weeks. I really hate cutting grass.

The USA has a lot of work to catch up with that particular brand of anglo retardation. That imho can only happen when all of the USA is under HOA agreements.

>Flower gardens take a considerable effort
only if they are manicured, like your pic

pic rel would be native wildflowers
you can order them cheaply online or some local non profit might give them out for free
(I funded a small club in my hometown myself, we give out wildflower seed packets on the main pedestrian street for free on some weekends and lobbied the city to plant more native flowers instead of dead, foreign grass)

a wildflower meadow is really easy to care for
>throw out seed in early spring (depending on the mix)
>water once (but you don't have to)
>don't do anything until Autumn
>mow once
>repeat in the next year
it's that easy
and you get plenty of wildlife
