Butter
>Be United State
>Butter Factory produces 64k pounds of butter
>Forgets to put "contains milk" on the box
>half a million USD of butter must now be thrown away

Why is America so flagrantly wasteful? Even if you *could* afford to be this wasteful (and clearly your country are), why can't you just put the butter back into different cardboard boxes, or donate it with the attached stipulation it contains milk?

Why don't the retarded in your country know that butter always contains milk?

If you want the honest skinny? It's a trick by the feds to reduce the amount of the population that consumes milk in general (since taking away our raw wasn't enough) and gradually they do this by treating milk like a toxin and associating it with negative traits like allergies and growth hormones, despite the fact the former is a rare thing that only happens in colored populations anyway and the other has been banned from the US since at least the 1970s

How is the label "fucked up" at all? Do you really need a label on packaging of the butter to tell you that butter contains milk?

It's very common for them to fuck up a recipe and dump 10k pounds of product.
64k is not a significant amount in the grand scheme of things but it is ridiculous and wasteful.

In my country, very few things come in a factory package unless like snack food or instant noodle. Most everything else is either in a simple package with a homemade label or no package at all.

Do Americans eat most of their food that come out of packages or boxes, even the meat? That is so strange and unimaginable to me, rice and meat and egg are always local

It does seem silly, but we have a metric crapload of butter-like products, each trying to seem like butter without actually being butter. Many of them are spreads rather than bars, which may or may not contain butter. A consist alert label reduces mistakes.

butter doesn't "contain milk". it is made from milk but processed so that the liquid is removed. so you have to define what milk is, which is a liquid containing milk proteins and milk fat. butter contains milk proteins and milk fat but no milk liquid.
it is a semantic argument i agree, but having a label stating contains milk or not havin that label is literally a semantic argument too.
butter is processed milk with the liquid removed, but people would say milk is a liquid so then butter cannot contain milk if it has no liquid.

that's not true though. they don't list pesticides in the ingredients. it depends what ingredients are considered a "standard practice" and so "don't need to be said". so the "contains milk" shouldn't be necessary but it was specifically made a requirement by someone in the FDA, while pesticides should be on the label but they're not.

its not about a 'oh I didn't know that' thing. Its about litigation. If you don't put it, then potentially, if someone who can't have it, has some and gets sick, they can sue the company that made it for not labeling this and simply assuming that everyone knows this.

It could be as simple as one person attempted to sue them, they settled and added labeling ever since just in case.
Anonymous (ID: l7/l1erQ) United States No.512115031
>>512107255
Its because you are looking at the labels as 'there to inform'

Its not really there to inform. Its there to show that it DID inform, so someone can't later disingenuously file a lawsuit saying they had no idea butter contained milk and it got them sick, so now they want compensation.

You think its about Americans being retarded, but its really about Americans retardedly broad system allowing people to bring lawsuits against corporations.

We decided that it was in the greater good to allow even regular individuals to hold companies accountable when they are harmed by them. This, has the side-effect of resulting in lawsuits where people try to hold butter makers accountable for failing to tell them its made with milk for a quick payday

No one forget anything.
I would be surprised if this "butter" actually exist in reality and not just on paper.
Probably something like that:
>where are 250k pounds of Milk?
>Well we didn't just sold it overseas without paying taxes, we made butter from it, but we can't show it as we forget to print "contains MILK" on a box, so we already destroyed all of it. Yes, that's what happened.
