I fucking hate those car scent things. I don't get carsick but I get into one with that thing chucking out it's cloying, rancid scent and I want to hurl.

The problem is no one reads the directions on the packaging. It says to only cut a small corner off and increase on a weekly basis. People just tear it out of the plastic after buying and it’s incredibly overpowering. They are quite good if used correctly.

They used to be overpowering. The modern ones have been jewed. Fully opened isn't even that strong anymore. And the smell is completely gone after a week or less. Its like they have 1% the smell they used to.

Yes, I used to have to cut only a small part of the package open to not be overpowered, or fully open one and leave it outside for a week before putting it in the car. But not anymore. Recently bought a 12 pack of the best flavor, Coconut. And they are so fucking weak.
