Finland bought tons of them with our exchange trade agreements with the soviets. We got the "luxury" models meant for export with extra features and better quality control, even then they were widely mocked because they were just that shit compared to western cars. It actually became bit of a problem as the soviets wanted to export a certain quota but they just weren't selling at that rate. The soviets didn't understand that we couldn't force people to buy the cars, and it created friction during the trade negotiations.

We had one when I was a young'un. Bizarre creature. had a handcrank thing in the front, I think to get it started in cold weather? Most uncomfortable thing ever. Back seat should have just been a church pew. The wiring was chaos, and the buttons and switches were weird. Like, half of em you couldn't tell what they were for just looking at 'em. The turn signal, IIRC, was a toggle switch kinda like what you'd find on a power bar. Press left or right side to turn on respective signal. Also, it rusted if you looked at it wrong.

Daily Signal is run by the Heritage Foundation.

From Wikipedia:
โ€œโ€ฆ In June 2015, Donald Trump announced his candidacy for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination. In July 2015, appearing on a Fox News panel, Michael Needham, leader of Heritage Action, the foundation's advocacy arm, said, "Donald Trump's a clown. He needs to be out of the race."

The following month, in August, a Heritage Foundation economic writer, Stephen Moore, criticized Trump's policy positions, saying, "the problem for Trump is that heโ€™s full of all of these contradictions. Heโ€™s kind of a tabula rasa on policy."

In December 2015, then Heritage Foundation executive vice president Kim Holmes, authored an essay opposing Trump and his candidacy for Public Discourse, published by the Witherspoon Institute, a Princeton, New Jersey-based think tank, which criticized Trump as "not a conservative." Holmes also criticized Trump supporters, writing that, "they are behaving more like an alienated class of Marxist imagination than as social agents of stability and tradition. They are indeed thinking like revolutionaries, only now their ire is aimed at their progressive masters and the institutions they control," he wrote.[65] Then Heritage president Jim DeMint "praised both Rubio and Cruz, but said that he couldnโ€™t 'make a recommendation coming from Heritage'โ€ฆโ€

Never use a turbo it just shortens your engines lifespan from recycling hot exhaust gas into it. At least have an intercooler if you do. Theres a bunch of Volvos with 2.5l turbos that are all dogshit, the 1.9l is what you want non aspirated or 2.4l NA.

Few ppl know that Lada is a copy of the Fiat 124
>Fiat licensed numerous variants of the 124 for worldwide manufacture, including the Russian-built VAZ-2101 "Zhiguli" and its many derivatives. Known as the Lada outside the Soviet Union, these Russian variants constituted the vast majority of 124 derived production, making it the fifth best selling automotive platform in history.

im glad i moved out of the industry. i worked on gross and was pretty fucking good.. i did alot of nasty things to people. even when we went to a units plan for a few months i still held all the gross just for fun.
the world doesn't need people with this kind of skillset imo. i considered it empathetic manipulations.. i just read them so well and knew exactly how they felt and knew just how much i could push them along to close them.

We used to have heaps of them (often taxis) but they brought in emissions rules in 1992 and all the ones already here got re-exported so there are basically none now.

Would be eye catching. I could buy one in Eastern Europe and convert it to right hand drive, which is very easy. Would need to br a model before 1992 when rules came in.

I used to live in Mexico on business, im a mechanical engineer for a car company. Theyre cheap because theyre 3rd world poverty boxes that have no ac, safety euipment or creature comforts of any kind. They are also usually ancient designs. 3rd world shitholes will buy old tooling from rich countries and make last years model for 20 years or more. Argentina made the 60s ford falcon until the 90s. Russia made 60s fiats until 2012 and they still make 1960s vans and jeeps today, they are sold in Mexico under the UAZ brand. Mexico has multiple of these shitty new old car brands for poor people. They are all absolutely horrible turds, nobody in America will want them. The people who do are just an extremely loud angry minority like SJWs and urbanists. If you want one so bad go buy an old car and put a new motor in it.

this. Put a used VW tdi engine in there and you have your very own 3rd world shitskin poorfag truck
>>512125817
safety was a bigger issue and the fact that americans simply dont like microcars.
>>512126051
Even a brand new one is likely a 25 year old design anyway, if not older. Russian UAZ trucks are copies of american ww2 jeeps and Ural is a copy of a ww2 bmw bike.

its literally just a tacoma with a diesel inline 4. You can make the same thing by putting a diesel engine in an old one.

Almost bought a Lincoln, then i saw that it was assembled in Zengzhou, China.
Sad!

Bought a Lexus that was assembled in Ontario instead.

Lexus makes a lot of high end sports cars these days, but the real gems are older models with low mileage.
