>>512118619 >no systemd
Only on Artix, Devuan, Open Mandriva. The Holy Trinity. >no wayland
Factually potentially detrimental in the long run. >no RUST
NOW we're talking. >no Linus
AMCOOOOOOOOOOOMIIIIIIINNN'

systemd is good. You could spend 5 minutes learning how to use it instead of bitching about your old shitty init scripts that only work half the time.
Hey, I've been longing to switch to Linux but I haven't manned up enough to do so. If I do, which distro should I use? I have seen videos of ricing and stuff and thought that was really cool
>>512119127 >wayland doesn't even supersede X11
...X11 is a stale rotten withered skeleton of a milked-to-death cow that got roadkilled on a deserted Arizona road decades ago, kiddo.
>>512119907
X11 is a mess
but what i said it still true retard >no global hotkeys >no remote display >no input injection >shit screen capture support >no scripting to manipulate windows >shit fallback when drivers shit the bed
and i'm sure i can go on and on >>512120095
Xlibre doesn't seem providing as much as i want it to succeed

I switched to Linux this year. It's not difficult. They have great documentation. But you need to be willing to learn and spend some time doing it initially. I'm not an IT guy, but I had some basic understanding how computers work and it took me about a month. The distro choice depends on what you're looking for. I went with Arch because it's minimalistic and allowed me to build and configure the system exactly how I wanted it. Very happy I've done it. Didn't boot into Windows in months.

its one thing to be able to install linux from some bootable distro, and quite another to be able to actually use it. I think thats where most people fail with linux there is so much to learn to be able to use it. lfs is almost necessary imho...
>>512120931
I don't mind needing to learn a new system or anything, I really do like the idea of using Arch though. I would like to configure my OS in any way I want! (mostly to make it look pretty) I'll switch to Arch soon, perhaps.
>>512122075 >Politics =/= Software
Tell that to retard Linus, who kicked out and banned all Russian and CIS coders, testers, and maintainers of Linux core, and try telling that to furfaggotring landwhale CoC trannies.
>>512122330
The most hilarious thing, is that any Linux core builds right after 6.11 (which was the last core that was directly worked on and maintained by Russians), started nearly immediately having issues and overall quality of the core dropped massively almost instantly.
>>512118619
Wayland is one of the best changes made to the Linux userland in decades. Systemd has its flaws but is not as bad as people who bitch about it daily claim.
>>512122586
Why don't Russians fork the kernel? Most people who use linux to escape the glownigger rape will actually use it instead of the version made by Fingol and American troons.
>>512122607
Only problem with wayland is that it cannot full screen old rpgm/wolf games.
Otherwise it's catching up to xorg. Systemd is actually better if you are system or server manager. It saves a lot of time and manual labor.
>>512123145
Politics, Open Source foundation is registered in burgerland and theres sanctions basically outlawing to employ Russians.
Also, he's a faggot
>>512124054
nigga that's reverse engineering of windows NT kernel. While impressive its not same as forking modern day linux kernel, which you can actually do to run modern hardwares and softwares.
>>512124393
Something this way was said when the thing happened, but I'm not aware of the Details. Politicians are Boomers that don't think of open source projects when they have their laws an sanctions written
>>512124506 >nigga that's reverse engineering of windows NT kernel
It recreates NT functionality with clean-room approach, but it is factually Linux core.
