but you write a few articles about "mis-dis-malinformation" if that's the hot thing, and you get a fellowship, and then a new war pops up and you write about how NATO and its allies are right and any view to the contrary is extremist lies, and you get appointed at a think tank, and so on
i'm sure it's been this way for centuries but the internet makes it all so transparent. it has to be demeaning to lie for a living, like being a corporate defense attorney or a lobbyist or pharma salesman, economic hitman
it has to be damaging to the soul, after a certain point. slowly the mask replaces the person underneath it. i feel bad for these people ultimately, even though they are probably paid very well for their service to the machine
