I have a degree in engineering and I’m living in a medium-sized apartment, but can't save enough for a house. I live a relatively stable but mediocre life.

I spent years working hard in school, didn't focus on anything retarded (parties, drugs, whores, etc), I worked part-time jobs, internships, graduated near top of my class. I did everything I was ‘supposed’ to do.

Meanwhile, my grandfather dropped out of highschool, managed a factory, had four kids with two women, and still ended up with a big house, two cars, a pension, and yearly trips to Florida.

It’s honestly fucked up how much harder it feels now to get even HALF of what they had. Yet a lot of old people act like they earned it through hard work. The boomer hate is totally warranted.

I graduated at 16 and worked full time until I was 21 and had a down-payment for a house, once the market went up I took out a home equity loan and bought a second house that needed a ton of work. Worked on that for 4 years and turned it into a duplex. Then I bought my current house 2 years ago.

I work in the trades, while remodeling my first 2 houses I was often working 16+ hours a day between my day job and remodeling. Now that I'm 31 and have 3 rental imcomes I can relax a little
