if you take the bus, which may or may not be cheaper than flying, it drops you off in the dangerous part of town. but taking the bus also means you don't get charged for luggage, and you can bring a knife. or just look strong and hopefully don't get ganged up on. in my brokest moments i've taken greyhound and flixbus to vegas. flights are getting slim but prices are cheap. you just have to pack very light and accept all the regs about liquids.

i would visit vegas again if they had better policies and controlled the bum problem better. they do have many cops in that dt area.
